Poured U98 at Costco on the 21st Sep for $2.38/L because everywhere around us was $2.45/L or higher. It’s now $2.43/L at Costco and between $2.60-$2.70/L around us. My 💔 for truckies/farmers/heavy machinery users etc. Diesel/Premium/Diesel is $2.72/L at Costco. It’s $2.83-$2.99/L around us.

I am on my 2nd last load of washing for the day. I bought Dad 5 new pairs of pjs, 7 pairs jox & 6 singlets. Very lucky to find all at Kmart. This week’s dirty shirts, polos, slacks, singlets, sox & jox are all washed & already drying on the line. I wish there was more sun today. Natures sanitizer.

When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I find I put some difficult things off a bit until I feel calmer, more capable & in a better head space to tackle them. I do less difficult things instead that make me feel better, to help put me in that better place to tackle the hard stuff.

to work. I don’t have indefinite paid leave I can take. I can’t afford to take unpaid leave. It shouldn’t take this long or be this complicated to organise someone to come by in the afternoons to help Dad for a couple hours, 4 days a week. I’ve called HART 10 times to try & get help showering him!

Trying to get Stay At Hone assistance is a fkn nightmare. MyAgedCare, Carer Gateway, HART via Austin Hospital all 💩. Northern Hospital’s Elderly Person’s CareHub r only ones that have shown up & provided assistance. Everyone else has ignored us or booked an appointment weeks away. I have to go back

Then had a go at me for not calling his kids on their birthdays. I stopped calling everyone on their birthdays years ago. Not just the kids. Our relationship is broken. That’s no excuse for him not staying connected to his parents. I’ve never stopped anyone from seeing them.

My brother blames me for not having access to our parents - not sure how. Door is always open when Dad and I are home. He drives past Mums Aged Care everyday. We’d love to see him walk through those doors. If he chooses not to, how is that my fault? He stopped inviting us to his kids birthdays.

My BIL was the one that organised the Solar installation for Dad too. He makes sure we have birthdays with Mum. But my brother still resents him & doesn’t consider him family. The rest of us don’t feel that way. We appreciate my BIL

Being sick at the moment hasn’t helped. I’ve also resented my brother. He wants to be informed & make decisions, but still won’t lift a finger to help me with either of them. I moved back & have been helping them since Oct 2010. My BIL mows lawns, cuts Dads hair, takes him out. Runs errands.

Had a routine with Mum and Dad. Now we’re living in uncertainty and a period of adjustment. Now I wake up with a knot in the pit of my stomach everyday. I don’t know if it’s the fear of change, the unknown or that I’ll be making decisions impacting my entire family soon.

Caring for someone in cognitive decline is hard work and was absolutely kidding myself to think I could WFH and do it myself and also visit mum in Aged Care daily. We’re getting Dad some help. I can’t afford to stop working to care for him full time. It’s only Wed and I’m absolutely exhausted.
