Privatizing veterans health care away from the VA is a way to slowly strip veterans of their benefits. If you mingle them in among other providers, the disabled veteran becomes just another patient. It’s a reflection of the anger that permeates the conservative view of healthcare is welfare.

It’s easy to bash middle management because they annoy everyone at some time or another. Sometimes, everyone at once. Spans of control are hard to understand in larger organizations and removing those with institutional knowledge may hide problems that AI simply cannot capture due to ignorance.
