Amazing double wing folding mechanism on this Fairey Gannet naval aircraft at the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, York, UK🛩️⚔️

The Double Mamba turboprop engine was in two halves, each one driving its own propeller. This means that on patrol, you could shut one half of the engine down, and cruise on the other one, to save fuel and increase endurance!

Lichen on a dry stone wall, #peakdistrict #derbyshire. The air quality in this area is very good, and so lichen colonies flourish. I can heartily recommend my native county!

Lichen on a dry stone wall is very attractive. The Peak District National Park was the first one established in the UK, and has a wide range of hills moorlands, ancient castles and cave systems to satisfy every tourist.

Stone - in its many forms - appeals to me, greatly. Durham Cathedral is a wonderful example of Mediaeval beauty. I liked that 'layered' look.
