BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Ehrm, sorry to interrupt here, but ehrm... Doesn't mr. Putin have some problems with refineries having been exploded by Ukrainian drones? 1120
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 09/10/2026I should map out the rest of the world at some point! It's on the to-do list. I'll get to it eventually. 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Well, for the Polti, most of their planet is unexplored. They live on a small archipelago, where they know all but the largest island (Shensha, where the Choud live). The rest of the world? They're completely unaware. This is an advantage of setting your world in the stone age. 110
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Winston Churchill, famously not a conservative??? 000
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Among the Polti, the test of manhood is to hunt and kill a Dedekurr without help from others. A Dedekurr is a flightless bird. Think less Dodo, think more Ostrich. This isn't easy! Many Polti boys fail, even after multiple tries. It's not unusual for boys to never succeed, and remain boy forever. 020
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Well, not so fast. Who decides who gets to vote for the speaker-elect? This is an interesting chicken-and-egg problem that has occurred once before, see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broad_S...en.wikipedia.orgBroad Seal War - Wikipedia 000
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Why does this look like former communist bloc propaganda? 020
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Hold on, didn't the lab accident involve pneumonic plague instead of bubonic plague? 110

BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I suppose Tell Aviv has gotten so full with US military planes that they had to move these back to the US. 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Given that Tiffany as a first name was essentially unused pre Breakfast at Tiffany's, I suppose you can exclude the number being reused as a consequence of an old lady dying. 110
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Something like eleventeen? i.redd.it/4661pdeo360b...i.redd.it 000
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Given how quartz is a mineral with such a diversity of ways it looks, perhaps a mini-cup to figure out which quartz is the best? 050
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 02/10/2026For me: factory default after not picking an option, mostly ignored it afterwards. 000
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Isn't the whole point of this guy that he loves to be on screen? Have they not considered that that may become an issue? 110
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I suspect that'll move Vance's chance of winning in 2028 from slim to none. 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 02/10/2026With only the gods being able to use magic, it doesn't play a role in warfare. If some god(dess) were to incarnate, and use magic in warfare, they'd pretty much revealing themselves as deity. The battle/skirmish would promptly end, as nobody would want to be seen as fighting the gods. 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Wow! For comparison: the nearest pump to me charges €2.40/L, which, after unit and currency conversion, works out to $10.20/gal. 110
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Is that high or low for the US? To me it seems very low, but then again, I'm from Europe. 101
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 01/10/2026The thing that surprises me is that these people decided to stay on this site. If you're so opposed to the people in charge, why not leave? We all did that when Musk took over Twitter. 4100
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Both of them are lying, at least one of them is also wrong. 170
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 01/10/2026This could have been prevented by withdrawing all diplomatic personnel from Iran. Why do we European countries still have open Embassies there? 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Or maybe it's a misspelling of Sapphonification? 000
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 01/10/2026To gently point out to the maker of the graph: for someone like me, with colourblindness, the lines of Mexico and Canada are indistinguishable, which is made worse because they overlap a while. 000
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 01/10/2026This was a really easy choice. Now, if this would have been Quartz vs Halite, I would have had a very hard time choosing! 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I mean, Morgoth technically is a member of the Valar... 020
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 30/09/2026But did he also make an genAI image of the deputy getting shot at? 180
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Oh, yes! They have a noticeable lack of refining capacity. And the only major import route that's not blocked somehow is with Russia across the Caspian. Importing through there isn't really an option, due to Ukrainian drone-strikes. 020
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 30/09/2026The groups of Choud that take canoes to Tesham tend to have been mostly defeated by other Choud, it's often a desperation move. So you end up with a small group of weakened Choud against a large group of unified Polti men. 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Between the Polti and the Choud, the weaponry isn't all that different: mostly stone-age spears. There are some differences, though. Due to their constant warfare, the Choud are better trained but also more likely to have medical issues due to earlier fights. 110
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 29/09/2026The Polti have not developed weapons due to a specific threat, but have have gotten to a weapon for other purposes: the spear (wooden shaft, flint point). These are used mainly for spearfishing, but also hunting Dedekurrr, and also also defending against the Choud, unfortunately. 011
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I think you may have made a slight error here: the 10 is for the number of Johns having received a physics price, while the number of physics prices to a John is 11, due to John Bardeen getting the price twice. 020
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 27/09/2026In the latest ice age all these islands formed one landmass, thus it is generally presumed that all the people living there have a common ancestral population. The reasons for this great cultural divergence are one of the unsolved mysteries of Neminnar. 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 27/09/2026The Choud, who live on nearby Shensha, are very warlike. The whole island has been in a state of near-constant warfare amongst the various tribes since time immemorial. 110
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 27/09/2026The Polti, who live on Tesham and the smaller islands of Neminnar, are a very peaceful people. They do never fight each other, nor do they fight the Selli, who live in the inlands of Tesham. The Polti only fight when attacked by a Choud raiding or settlement party. 110
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 26/09/2026The edit button will be added the day after you make your last typo. 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 25/09/2026How does that match with regular expenses, like rent, mortgage, utilities, insurances? Are those also (bi)weekly? Or does it end up as a mess where the timing of your income and expenses mismatches? 200
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Huh. Are weekly/biweekly/four-weekly payments still common in the US? (Here in NL it's technically still possible, but pretty much everyone has switched to monthly.) 210
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Is this game intended for two players, or for any natural number larger than one players? 111
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 24/09/2026But those last two are very rare, now that the Dedekurrr has mostly been hunted to extinction on the more inhabited outside of Tesham, and Choud incursions are generally quickly dealt with. So I'd rate travel as pretty safe. Vagabonds, peddlers, and bandits? These just don't exist. 010
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 24/09/2026The main hazards when travelling on Tesham are getting lost, and sudden bad weather. Rare hazards are accidentally aggravating a Dedekurrr (best climb a tree, they can easily outrun you), or running into a Choud raiding party (hide, and when found accept your fate as a slave). 110
BlueishMage @blueishmage.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Well, be at peace with Ukraine. I suppose they'll just end up being at war with themselves. 000
