i told them over and over that they're pretty cards and we can enjoy them! but we just need to know that they did not come from the pokemon company

Blues @ comms closed @blucifer08.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

i was very very delicate with explaining that the golden cards are fake and i was worried i'd see them get super super sad but they were just very excited to learn from a teacher who likes pokemon... and honestly my heart is so warm...........

Blues @ comms closed @blucifer08.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

i always have cards on me to give away anyways.......

i'm not saying they can't ever trade with a trusted adult but i am instilling a little bit of skepticism so they can protect their own collections

190

Blues @ comms closed @blucifer08.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

some of them had heard it before and i felt proud because a boy asked "well, why won't you trade cards with us?" and another piped up to explain that i'm an adult who knows more about value and it's unfair because i could take advantage of them so I don't. he REMBERD

with adults) it just came up during some of our free time today but it was fun

1120

Blues @ comms closed @blucifer08.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

i got to educate a whole class on how the golden pokemon cards they keep trading are fake and that may have hurt feelings but they were all incredibly grateful and i gave them more info on how to make sure they're not being outright scammed, especially with adults (and discouraged them from trading

I am just now getting paid for 9/14-9/27 because of their weird delay pay schedule and you're not gonna pay me for those 3 missing days for TWO MORE WEEKS???

Blues @ comms closed @blucifer08.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

I'm so mad man, they fucked up my paycheck and missed 3 whole days of work and they're gonna fix it but not until my next paycheck which is gonna be in two more weeks and like. No I need the money Now not then

Dog Shark 🦈🐶 Carcharocanis familiaris, commonly known as "Shark Puppies", are your best friend from the ocean! #Sharktober2026

A large illustration featuring various "shark-puppies" of different shark species in a variety of poses. They are shown in curious and happy stances, running, sniffing, acting playful, and more!

Below the image, there is a description styled like a scientific species illustration, naming them "Carcharocanis familiaris". This name combines Carcharodon (the genus that includes great white sharks) with Canis (the genus that includes dogs), plus Familiaris to indicate they are domesticated.

Tried selling off a couple pokemon cards so I can buy a card I've been chasing so hard from a friend but the price the card shop gave was so low so I said no but now my nervous system thinks I've murdered someone for wasting their time slightly

Our cat needs a big dental operation to avoid a much worse and more expensive dental operation in the future--it isn't an emergency, but we would like to get the money in place for it ASAP. We're saving stipends from our own paychecks but extra always helps! Thank you!

Thank you everyone who shared something with me, it was incredibly insightful. I feel very frustrated when I cannot find the words to sort my feelings and sometimes feel lost. Typing this out was supposed to help, but it left me even more lost--but you guys helped me navigate it a bit
