Built another robot. This one goes on the ‘to be panel lined and detailed’ pile. I don’t plan to paint her. She did come with sea foam green alternate pieces where the orange bits are. I don’t like sea foam green, that’s a color for bath towels.

Our power was out for nine hours yesterday and my schedule got all out of whack (couldn’t have my regularly scheduled tea, pleeze do not mess with my routines, I get cranky), so I sat on my ass and started started a small Prime. Finished him this evening. He’s very cute.

Cows. (We live on open range and the cows have pushed down our north fence. The dogs do not like cows in their territory.)

Saw a tarantula hawk the other day. Have not seen any tarantulas yet this year.

Marsh, smooth Saluki, and Khroma, West Siberian Laika. Summer is coming on and Khroma has reached the exploding cattail phase of her shed cycle.

Took MPG-17 Style Gen Prime out of the box and messed with him yesterday, so I thought I’d do a quick and dirty review. 🧵 See photo alt text for commentary. TLDR: worthy successor to MP10, pretty, good articulation, sturdy ‘toy like’ feel (not delicate or fidgety), intuitive transformation.

Looks like a flat nosed semi. Honestly, I buy these things for the robot mode and rarely transform them more than once. He has a couple of tabs that don’t like to stay tabbed, but the transformation is easy and intuitive, complicated enough to have puzzle solving appeal while not being frustrating.

His head is on a ball joint and doesn’t tilt much right to left except when it’s turned in certain directions. Large of range of motion in the shoulders.

The ratchets in the hips could use a few more clicks, it takes some fussing to get him into a pose that’s not ‘stereotypical toy action.’

A good figure should be able to kneel, (both and one knee), lie down, and sit. His hips have a swing joint that allows more forward movement, since his pelvis, like MP10, is a solid piece with no moving hip skirts.

I’ve been building models kits in the evenings to keep my hands limber (and limit doomscrolling.) I bought him because he was pretty. First kit I’ve done since high school (not including a half finished HG Barbatos 6th form. And Blokees don’t count; no tools needed.)

Dogs. See alt text. Our old place was so remote they’d see strange cars maybe twice a year. Now we’re on a paved road, and there’s multiple cars a day to be barked at, especially the white trucks going to the power station down the road aways. White trucks are the worst.

I miss the canyons and bluffs at our other property. All we have here are some unenthusiastic hills. We had a ton of rain this summer and our cleared space exploded with weeds and grass. Goatheads. We hateses them.
