In the end it seems like Lenin severed the tsarist vines off the roots and grafted on the Communist Party vines. From the perspective of Russian power it was a definite improvement. No way the Romanovs would have been able to churn out tens of thousands of T34s in the forties.

So it's the Jewish Problem now and not just the Jewish Question? Hard to believe it's worse, but Yarvin seems to have managed it.

She's said afterwards that she was unhappy with the support for Bibi and seems somewhat corroborated from others. I don't think this is any different, I just think it's "go along to get along". And I would respect her a lot more if she stuck up for what she claimed and seems to truly believe.

It seems like they have taken or reinvented permanent revolution from Trotsky. They simply won't let anyone else be unless they adopt this racist and hierarchical vision for the world.

I think it's pretty funny. The Dem consensus after inauguration was give Trump what he wanted, pay respects to Charlie Kirk, do ICE lite, etc. It's the outsiders that were right about everything.

In 2002, English writer Rory Steward walked across most of Afghanistan, and wrote a book about it - The Spaces in Between. He describes illiterate people that couldn't read Arabic but would recite the Koran from memory without understanding the words they were reciting.

Zeev Sternhell describing nationalists embracing antisemitism not only because they were antisemites, but also that it was easier to define enemies than define their program. Transphobia is easier now b/c it's mostly an imagined enemy, but Jews remain useful.
Zeev Sternhell, "Neither Right nor Left"

The new right was quick to recognize the advantages to be gained from anti-Semitism. It felt that anti-Semitism filled a certain gap, supplied a need, and that without it nationalism could not survive. The Maurrassians made anti-Semitism one of the cornerstones of integral nationalism: they had a far more definite conception of it than many other right-wing groups. After the failure of Boulangism, Maurras wrote, “Everything seems impossible or terribly difficult without the providential appearance of anti-Semitism. It enables everything to be arranged, smoothed over, and simplified. If one were not an anti-Semite through patriotism, one would become one through a simple sense of opportunity.”³⁹

Unable to define itself in any other way than in terms of opposition, the nationalism of the turn of the century used racism and anti-Semitism as a means of stigmatizing everything it was against. The Jew symbolized the anti-nation: he was all that was negative—the cosmopolitan in opposition to whom, and yet at the same time in consequence of whom, national sentiment could finally emerge. For the new right, anti-Semitism was not only a useful political strategy but also a ferment that could help in that search for an identity of which nationalism is an expression.

I think in general the argument is that Judaism is a proxy for race distinct from other religions. There are no obstacles to me if I want to become Muslim but practically impossible for Judaism. Why? My mother is not Jewish. Judaism is both an ethnicity and a religion.

Losing the group that lived through the second world war is like losing the groups that fought for civil rights, and for the rights of workers, and the rights of women. Those are disappearing and if people don't fight for them, they will be taken away.

I think what Trump understood is that he only needed to win the majority of the Republican party which can sweep everything even at anything better than -4 vs the opposition. At that level all he needs is 25% of voters to want fascism.

Vermule is such a Carl Schmitt fanboy.
https://x.com/Vermeullarmine/status/210613463237913001

From Schmitt’s Roman Catholicism and Political Form (1923):

“Should economic thinking succeed in realizing its utopian goal and in bringing about an absolutely unpolitical condition of human society, the Church would remain the only agency of political thinking and political form. Then the Church would have a stupendous monopoly: its hierarchy would be nearer the political domination of the world than in the Middle Ages.”
