Interesting contrast in the station signage at Chalfont and Latimer station with the older signs spelling the name correctly and in full, whilst the newer signs use the ampersand. Personally, I prefer the “AND” version!
Original CHALFONT AND LATIMER station roundel, with the name spelled out in full
Newer CHALFONT & LATIMER sign using an ampersand instead of spelling the word “AND” in full.

I’d say it’s two photos of the same ship but either Georgic or Britannic. They were both used as troopers during the war.

The interior looks well cared for but the gardens less so. This was once a bowling green - the bowls club who once played here were evicted and it’s been left to rot! Swakeleys Roundabout is still going strong!

Open House Weekend, so taken the opportunity to visit Swakeleys House, built 1638 and which is literally two minutes walk from me. Now owned by a property company who are doing the bare minimum to engage with the community. Two rooms and one staircase open - but better than nothing I guess!

THREAD/Today marks the 86th anniversary of "Black Saturday" - 7th September 1940, what would prove to be the first day of the London Blitz. The docks, the East End, Woolwich Arsenal and the entire eastern half of London suffered most on this day. Here we see the first of two photographs taken by...

Buried here at St Luke’s Church. I have got a photo of his memorial in the church but it must be saved on my PC! St Luke’s is an interesting church in its own right. It has a warrant to fly the White Ensign, as it was visible as a navigation point for ships in the Thames heading for Greenwich.
