Seems like the last time it worked we weren't scared to be publicly known, even by King George III.
John Hancock's famously large signature from the Constitution of the United States.

Yep, it's the economy classics again. Or as my old XO at NNPTC once tried to suggest during a parking lot crisis: “People just need to drive in earlier to get a spot!” as if we'd all be able to park that way.

Am I the only one seeing coffee prices go weird? This is in northern Virginia in the DC area for Folgers.
A line chart showing coffee prices maintaining about $9/tub in March 2024 through Jan 2025, maintaining $10.87/tub until May, but recently climbing to $13 and then $14.29 in succession up to end of August 2025.

But I can hardly defend overall ecosystems that needlessly grow to resemble this diagram (Deloitte's attempt at documenting the mass of topics that goes into software dev today). But either way I'm not away of any agile methods that don't plan in advance. The question is how far out planning goes.
An extremely busy diagram of nodes connecting to other nodes, each node being a specific software delivery practice, and grouped visualized based on delivery lifecycle. Title is "The Agile Landscape v3" by Deloitte.

The picture is still as true as it was when it was first presented probably a decade or so ago. Especially in a government context, where they can't get away with "distributed trust". It's a less efficient way to do the job, but it will make crypto oligarchs rich!
Picture of a simple flowchart slide from the presentation, it's only steps being: "Do I need a Blockchain?" pointing straight to "No"

Evaluated by the KPP they care about, they're doing pretty well! What's the failure rate through SERE? Or Ranger School? Or Nuclear Power School? Would these programs be more successful if everyone made it through no matter their performance, or if they had appreciable failure rates?

My parents got me this, didn't realize it needed software too. Luckily it had BASIC built-in and my school library had some books!
