Wasn't it confirmed a few years back that LASD alone had, like... SIX gangs???

Pretty sure that's a Grappler Baki arc.

Maybe this experience is unique to me, or maybe it's because I was diagnosed so late, but... I feel like attempting to communicate with other Autistics is a massivevcrapshoot. We may be able to communicate more easily than if I was speaking to an allistic. But it may also be way harder.

Kaleb Medel @blindedbypixels.bsky.social · 11/11/2025

And every time, it's like... No. If I meant that, I would have SAID that.

Kaleb Medel @blindedbypixels.bsky.social · 11/11/2025

The thing that bothers me most about talking with allistic people is that they all bring their own set of connotations to every word, every phrase, every idea you offer, such that they push their own self-constructed ideas and meanings on your words, rather than just listen to your ACTUAL words.

it would mean the world if you watched & shared the video for “horseglue,” which is a treatise on the media’s complicity in genocide, authoritarianism and most importantly… climate change. video directed by me and john lee, edited by @jdrllc.bsky.social.

I'd like to think that aliens have all sorts of different and unique pets compared to ours which fit their cultures more, but it's hard to argue against the benefits of a pet that is distinctly dog-like (at least in character and tendencies).

Both, depending on the person 😅 (Only like 3 people are in the instant category for me)

I see a lot of people taking issue with certain aspects of it here and there, but it's hard not to think they just didn't want sci-fi that was going to be this bold. At least not in Alien. Which is fine. But like, Hawley's doin' some wild shit here. And I'm not sure where it's going, but I dig it.

Based on the replies, it sounds like it is an autistic characteristic - albeit not one you exhibit personally. Which is also fine. Diversity is a strength after all.

While I understand allistic attachment to bodies, it doesn't change the fact that when I'm dead anything that was 'me' is long gone from this wet bag of bones. Friends really don't understand that I'd literally be fine with it being thrown in the trash at that point.

My partner and I watched it recently, for the first time in 30 years, and I have to say, it literally should not work on paper as a Disney movie. And yet it's one of their best ones!

- They've been disturbingly successful in this. - All of this makes the comic, world, and characters ample fodder for internet horror media that is as creative and insightful as it is upsetting.

- Garfield is not good and never has been. - Somehow it's been charming enough in a milquetoast way to spawn a merchandising empire. (This was always Jim Davis' primary intent, btw.) - For decades, the Garfield company has engaged in a strategy to quietly saturate the western world w/ merchandise.

I hear you, brother. My diagnosis has come to mean more over time as I've been able to reflect on it, but self-reflection can only get one so far. I'm still gullible and conflict-averse. I still struggle when faced with other people's strong emotions. Sometimes it's just hard.

110

Kaleb Medel @blindedbypixels.bsky.social · 30/07/2025

I was unimaginably hurt at the time, especially since I was unemployed and hemorrhaging cash. My ASD diagnosis explained a lot. Some people just won't like us, dude.

I once was denied a job offer because (after the final interview stage!) because they secretly contacted someone at my previous company as a 'vibe check'. The company where I genuinely tried to get on with everybody and do my best. In this (unnamed) person's words? "Awful employee. Awful person."

Typical AuDHD experience: - Sit down at desk - Remember I left headphones in living room - Leave to get them - Lose train of thought halfway there - Grab sunglasses from entryway instead - Get back to desk - Sit down, wearing sunglasses "What the fuck was I doing"

It's fun y because - terrible special edition dance number aside - I would argue that the Jabba's palace sequence is the best part of the movie and everything is downhill from there (with exception of the throne room stuff).

It's crazy to look back on all those years and just realize there was something unconscious about your very essence that people were always going to dislike. You didn't deserve it, but you probably couldn't have done anything differently. It barely even has anything to do with you personally.

As someone with ASD, I wanted to explore what I imagined someone would be like if they were born and raised in a society that not only accepted their difference, but encouraged them in contributing to that clan in their own chosen way.
