This comes across my feed in a time where Raid Shadow Legends is somehow a refreshing ad in rotation right now, when so much of the media being shoved down my throat on the daily is fake at its core. This isn't a political take, but thoughts and observations of growing up on the internet. 🧵

Sorry, folks. Meant to do my schedule today but ended up spending all day on Payday2, lmao. Hit lvl68 and got a decent chunk through chapter 1. But that means I forgot to do my schedule. I need to coordinate with a few people to have something concrete, so just FTD in 10ish hours for now.

We actually finished Rogue Trader today! Hopefully I'll be getting started on Baldur's Gate 3 soon, but I did have some takeaways from RT. Mostly that I don't want to stream another Owlcat game, for some pretty simple reasons.

Before I go to bed- here's something really cool you can do for your twitch subs. Server Settings>Integrations, link your Twitch to your Discord server, check a box, and you can enable your Twitch emotes as global Discord emotes. Anyone remember the last time we'd seen those? Years ago, man.

A screenshot of the Twitch integration panel in Discord. It shows synced roles, number of synced subs, and automation behavior for subscription expiration. The important things noted are the text at the top and a checkbox at the bottom.
The text at the top reads: "Link your Twitch account to automatically sync your Twitch subs to roles in this server. You can also let your subs use your Twitch emotes globally in Discord."
The text at the check box reads: "Allow synced subscribers to use your Twitch Custom Emoticons in Discord."

A lesson I've learned over the last couple years or so, is. Don't sweat bsky like counts too much. I have a lot of people that see my stuff and don't interact with it and that's perfectly okay. Some prefer to just message me privately about it. Do what you want, enjoy yourself out here.

Unfortunately spent today watching Sanctuary go up in flames, as a schism grew between ownership and the whole thing boiled over. There's a lot going on, and there's still unresolved things floating about, but I will want to talk about it in more detail, as I think we can learn something from it.

Tried a bit of Aniimo, it's pretty alright. Went in with low expectations, honestly. Feels like they ripped the engine straight out of Genshin, with Palworldy catching mechanics and demands, and evolution feeling a bit Digimon. An overall pleasant mix of ideas wrapped in annoying voice acting.

Personally, I think the funniest thing about tech culture is how webcams are designed with, like. Output limits, physical slides, active lights. Really nice security measures for webcam viruses. And then absolutely none of that translated to phones, VR, or any other things-with-cameras at all.

Really cool physics math visualized in Plinko. This is really cool to look at for me, because I've messed with From the Depths PID systems a lot and struggled to visualize how they keep my aircraft stable. Math is cool and I love seeing it expressed in exciting ways!

idk about anyone else, but good character design to me isn't about doing things that no one has done before, or hitting a detail quota, or being the most attractive It's about telling the viewer what the character is about at a glance, and being able to be recognized even if a 5yo drew it.

This has some good takes, and a whole lot of bad ones. As someone that's invested in a lot of TTRPG as well as huge franchises with dubious canonicity, the proper and improper use of these terms matters a lot to me. Let's talk. 🧵

Making a character for Pathfinder2e, a tabletop game I've yet to play properly. The idea has gone from "basically Puss in Boots" to "basically The Silent" in hilarious fashion, as sign language is a skill feat and thus difficult for the rest of my party to take at lvl1. Can't wait!

There's a distinct possibility I'll be cancelling stream tomorrow to run one of my cats to the vet. We think she swallowed a hard piece of plastic that's causing her to vomit small amounts of blood. Her life doesn't seem to be in imminent danger thankfully, but I'm still worried for her.
