Sure, Jan, that's what the age verification bill is for. The hypocrisy of the sitting GoP to pretend to protect children while continuing to feed them to the GREATEST OFFENDERS IN THEIR MIDST shows just how deep these fools have their arms in the cookie jar AND NO FEAR of repercussions.
Google headline results from the past two weeks that list an educator, county delegate, and pastor as being investigated or tried for relations with a minor.

Can you completely blame the ocean when we're absolutely savage in (figuratively) roasting little guys like this when we come across them 😆?

We noticed Google's environmental commitment in the runner at the bottom of their front page changed once they started promoting their AI products. The runner currently claims to be applying AI to conservation; however, cache tools don't seem to capture it, making this update difficult to track.

Gearing up with a couple of signs for a fun and productive #NoKings ! The US is in the midst of primaries, and now's a good time to remind politicians that they're CIVIL SERVANTS and as beholden to citizens and the community in their jobs as any BMV clerk.

While we constantly wish peace for Ukraine, we are not oblivious to the foreign greed & malice that has razed the country. The only valid terms are those supported by the peoples of these warring nations, who have suffered the greatest for an antiquated agenda of imperialism. #WeStandWithUkraine
Text that reads:
Considering the callous, if not complicit, nature of the US in the invasion of Ukraine, the only terms of peace we dignify are those endorsed by Ukraine, itself—who, in the 21st century, was needlessly invaded in an act of vainglorious imperialism—and affirmed by the Russian PEOPLE, who were forced to sacrifice their children as soldiers to this offense.

We feel the last point is particularly salient to the irrelevance of the current US administration's opinion, considering recent events regarding the needless deployment of National Guard on US soil. The callous and careless nature of this administration has cost lives and leaves it with little credibility in terms of constructing peace.

We do not forget the first impeachment.

Who says it's too cold to protest? After an amazing early November, let's keep the momentum going and show billionaires that buying a president and stealing from the economy is NOT the future of the United States of America! #NoKings #MassBlackout #SupportSmallBusiness
Screencap of text that reads:
Blackoutthesystem.com

Hello, #NoKings protesters—Americans and allies alike! From Nov. 27 (Thursday) to Dec. 2 (Tuesday), we are freezing out big business!

Last election, billionaires decided that, if they couldn't be president, they could buy one. They were especially interested in doing so as Democrats began revving up anti-trust measures, intent on taking down economy-eating monopolies.

So, as big business shoves their Black Friday sales in your face, let's show them we KNOW they are MORE than "in the black" in their ledgers and bending toward ultraviolet. They neither NEED nor DESERVE our help in getting to the end of the year if all they see our economy as is an opportunity for exploitation, not the sustenance of communities.

So, this protest is pretty easy as long as you try to stick to a few simple rules:

    1. If you have to shop, SHOP SMALL BUSINESS. Many small businesses are also hosting Black Friday sales, and many are genuinely trying to get "in the black"; these businesses are the ones the promotion was originally intended to help.
    2. If you're getting takeout, SHOP LOCAL, FAMILY-OWNED restaurants.
AND
    3. Optional objective: Try to fuel your vehicle (gas or electric) beforehand and reduce the number of trips you make—this might mean rescheduling extra events or going to the old lockdown standby of virtual get-togethers.

Good to see the Democratic Party at least demonstrating solidarity in supporting DoD's continued efforts to protect US soldiers and citizens. (Excerpt from our post here: bheartsaid.wordpress.com/2025/10/14/t...)
Excerpt from Bleeding Hearts post "The US National Guard and Its Misuse in This Moment" that reads: Thus, we applaud DoD’s efforts to navigate the persistent ignorance and heedless endangerment of soldiers as questions of competency arise regarding the current administration and/or its advisors. The actions of DoD, the Guard, and state authorities can only be construed as insurrection if one does not care about soldier welfare, states’ rights, or government spending.

Excerpt that reads: So, reasonably, much of the military community is alarmed to see this large-scale and frequent deployment of the National Guard in 2025. In fact, the Guard is being deployed more often and in greater numbers than in the summer of 2020 among the national protests for George Floyd. Deployment with no incidents of major disorder, unrest, or violence is near unprecedented; and, that’s with good reason: It is expensive (on multiple levels) to call up the Guard. We would note that the current Secretary of Defense has previously served in the Guard, which is potentially how they’ve been recommended for such frequent action; but, we’re not sure if he’s adequately explained the civic and financial costs to the president (especially as the president still seems confused about the military’s regulations on US soil).

#NoKings Know your National Guard from your ICE paramilitary:
Excerpt that reads: One of the most visible examples of the Guard’s compliance with such regulations is that they wear official military uniforms marked “Army” and with soldiers’ last names. Additionally, they are often unmasked in domestic deployment unless accommodating for weather or safety equipment. We suspect that, as demonstrated throughout history and across the globe, uniforms and cursory identification help to better coordinate operations and uphold the safety of those deployed.

Lack of uniforms and masked faces make operations easier to compromise… DoD keeps soldiers in uniform to keep them recognizable and safe.

Truly a malicious waste of time and resources, especially with a military trying to do better by its soldiers, vets, and the much-abused NG in this era.
Screencap of text that reads: And quick note because there seems to be confusion in the comments: NG is not ICE; they're uniformed WITHOUT masks because DoD wouldn't endanger them like that. Additionally, the only thing the actual military has done so far is prevent a protester from accidentally committing a federal crime. Otherwise, they stand around looking at federal buildings/agents.

Framing parents as genetic donors and vague paragons of "values," but not connecting their choices to withhold allowance while allowing—if not encouraging—work in the community, speaks volumes about missing an integral point to sustainable (and ideally ethical) wealth 🤨
Screenshot of text that reads: When we talk about what marginalized wealthy look like
vs. white wealth, that very first "justification" actually
embodies one of the fundamental differences:
Marginalized wealth is rarely concerned with genetics,
understanding it doesn't necessarily limit potential or
impact, but values social standing & perceptions instead.

For communities & cultures that are familiar with the act
of superficially "passing" as a means of self-preservation,
the lie that is genetic "supremacy" is incredibly obvious.

Multiple headlines from The Wilderness Society on Facebook with a picture of the red-banded foothills of the Grand Canyon. Text reads: Department of Justice quietly lays groundwork to dismantle national monuments; move seeks to let Trump eliminate millions of acres. It goes on to state, "The Department of Justice quietly issued an opinion through its Office of Legal Counsel titled 'Revocation of Prior Monument Designations.' The conveniently timed opinion lays the ground work for unravelling national monuments and dismantling the Antiquities Act, a bedrock conservation law that grants presidents authority and discretion to protect lands with historical, cultural, and scientific significance. It does not permit them to destroy or dismantle protections for national monuments. We will not have a full understanding of the devastation of this genocide to BOTH peoples until it's over. The only resolution to this grief now is that family, friends, and neighbors are reunited, and Netanyahu's regime is held responsible for the grotesquely superfluous harm caused.
Excerpt from editorial at bheartsaid.wordpress.com titled "We're Still Here: An African-American's Grief for Israel and Palestine" that reads: The point is to grab land. It’s the reason Netanyahu’s government invoked 9/11 when rallying for the cause. It’s the same reason they previously urged Ukraine to concede to Putin; but, we see how THAT’S going, so America’s playbook was the back-up plan. It’s why even many Israelis don’t support what’s happening, when what Netanyahu is doing is exactly what Hamas did to the Palestinian people: Paint a target on the back of an already vulnerable population. He’s fostering more anti-Semitism in the world for his greed when his people are constantly calling for peace and closure for their actual grief.

Just to be somewhat transparent in the conduct of this trade, a few points:
List reply to previous post:
• "You get free drinks" ...from dudes trying to bang with or without consent.

• "...open doors..." We know women's ability to open doors seems supernatural, but we promise that dudes can do it too... or choose not to, up to you really.

• "You get to live if the ship goes down with the kids..." Not sure what drama this is from, but guessing that this isn't the intended statement 🤨 Instead the "women and children first" rule comes from a disaster in which ALL the women and children on board a ship perished BECAUSE THE MALE CREW ABANDONED THEM. And, if the Maury talk show is anything to go by, men still have trouble sticking around for women and children to this day.

• "You get to live longer..." Seems more like a problem with a society that encourages violence and alcoholism in men and discourages healthcare access in general. But, taking abortion access off the table will even up those numbers in suicides and maternal mortality, no worries.

• "You get to wear anything you want and aren't put in a box..." Right up until trying to report sexual assault in a police station, sure. Also, listen to No Doubt's "I'm Just a Girl"; it's a bop, we promise.

• "You don't have to be drafted..." YOU don't have to be drafted; again, take that up with society.

• "You don't have to fight another girl to defend your man." Listen to Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Society has taught far too many women that their worth is based on having a dude; and, whether he's worthless or not, they will ruin friendships over it, if not do worse (see criminal couples, particularly re: abduction & sexual assault).

• "I'll trade you my penis for that thing." A penis is not the closest anatomical equivalent to a uterus, so that wouldn't be a fair trade. For starters, a penis doesn't bleed regularly or cause potential complications when failing to do so. Considering this is literally a matter of health, we'd hope the educational system would teach about this, but who knows?

It harms a military already struggling to regain good will with the public so that recruitment IS viable at the least and veterans are considered and cared for by their communities at the most.
Excerpt from a 2020 Bleeding Hearts post titles, "Letter to US Congress re: Presidential Corruption, pt. 3," that highlights the statements: During a time in which the military was focused on recruiting and developing new personnel to mitigate dependency on National Guard and Reserves, the ban impacted both recruitment and soldiers already enlisted. Negotiating hereditary wealth is far more complicated (ask Holocaust survivor descendants), but there are a few sweeping steps the US can take to start:
Screenshot of text that reads:
Many African-American scholars and advocates have pointed out that, at this point, in order to remotely account for the generational
devastation of communities, reparations need to be investment and commitment to providing resources and institutional change-for example, measures against affirmative action are also anti-reparation. The ideal is to facilitate the African-American community enough that they have food and housing security, equal employment opportunities, and do not have to fight barriers to quality education. And, as with affirmative action, facilitating vulnerable populations often creates benefits for the wider community (as we've said before). So, YES, it makes sense that the COMMUNITY would invest in these structures that benefit and safeguard them as well.

In a game of visibility, a cancer to US elections is campaign financing. Smaller candidates struggle to have equal opportunity and presence among voters REGARDLESS of whether they're BETTER EQUIPPED to serve their communities than the incumbents. US elections operate on a pay-2-win model. 2/3
Excerpt from BH post "Bipartisanship: From Flag to Shackle" (linked in post threaded below) that reads: However, considering the political savvy of the American people (which only continues to grow), it’s entirely possible that a third party would encourage the nation to move beyond bipartisanship; and, (in highlight) voters would feel more comfortable treating candidates like the job applicants that they truly are rather than worrying about legacy allegiances to parties that might no longer be serving their needs.

BHeartsAid @bleedinghearts.bsky.social · 16/10/2024
When you live in a society that fails to understand that politicians aren't mascots, but civil servants, and that the "servant" aspect SHOULD mean serving the People, not a power structure that eats the People. The point of an election is not for a party to win, but YOUR NEEDS to win. 1/3
Excerpt from BH post "Bipartisanship: From Flag to Shackle" (linked in later post in this thread) that reads: In the 2016 election, nearly 6% of votes were non-bipartisan—which doesn’t seem like much until you crunch the numbers. Almost 7 MILLION VOTERS didn’t choose either major political party. Before anyone plays the blame game here, as demonstrated above, this is normal for most comparable nations; the US just doesn’t have an established third party to represent those seven million*. In highlights: If a party system is ideally meant to be a menu with a delicious variety of dishes for voters, present bipartisanship has left the American People with just toast and gruel.

It was the equivalent of someone saying your mom had a radical agenda because she wanted you to wash your hands before eating.

That said, in the years since the onset of the pandemic, not enough governments have done much to correct this misconception and commit to national solidarity around healing and public health. Distancing and masking continue to be presented as oppressive restrictions rather than flexible efforts of relief, ways in which people can continue to go about their lives despite hardship.

"What the global pandemic response demonstrated to us was the vital need for WHO to be a largely independent body capable of providing information rooted in vested expertise and divorced from political agenda. Even now, we are striving to refine messaging that precludes lawmakers from enacting health and medical legislation with no citation or endorsement from practicing health professionals.

Few governments are adequately equipped to deal with a population's health, wellness, and medical quandaries on a case-by-case basis.... And yet, they can intervene in these highly intimate choices and bar people from life-preserving procedures.

So, we hope that board members are chosen with great care and a firm commitment to humanitarianism rather than politics or inhibitions."
