Do you remember how Kinger said that, in this world, the worst thing you can do is make someone feel like they aren't loved or wanted? I don't know if it was meant to be foreshadowing or not, but that's exactly what happened to Ribbit, when Jax made her feel like she wasn't welcome around him...

There's an extra layer of heartwarming to the Moon saying she loves Caine, even though she wasn't programmed to. Since she's voiced by Gooseworx herself, it feels like her saying that, in spite of the stress she was under, especially in regards to the finale, she still loves the characters she made.

Perhaps it's for the best that we didn't see the whole of that argument between Jax and Ribbit, if it ended with Jax sitting in the snow and Ribbit sounding so dispirited and heartbroken, promising to leave Jax alone...

This makes me think of that one scene from The Gumby Movie, when Pokey, Goo, and Prickle are fused together into one big ball of clay.

And so this was what Jax was up to between leaving Pomni and Ragatha and meeting up with Kinger, Gangle, and Zooble. Losing Kaufmo after first losing Ribbit hit him harder than any of us thought, and he had to pull himself back together before anyone else saw him actually showing emotion...

It's a shame. Caine could have been happy that the players were enjoying themselves on the adventures they suggested, but because it wasn't an adventure HE put together, that reflected poorly on him as a host, at least in his mind. He was that desperate to live up to what he was created for.

Gangle, honey, no one could blame you for not being sad that Jax is gone. He was horrible to you from the moment you arrived in the Circus. In his mind, he felt entitled to make you miserable because he decided your role was 'the sad one'. You shouldn't have to apologize for not crying for him.

I'm sure Jax wasn't expecting Zooble of all people to say he's still considered a friend. He intentionally set out to make himself unlikable so that he'd never form attachments with anyone ever again, and yet the others still consider him part of the group. In his mind, they're not supposed to care.

"Slice of life animes are the worst! It's embarrassing!" And how many of those have you watched to form that opinion, Jax?

In no other show (as far as I know of) would one receive such revelatory and eye-opening exposition from someone wearing a bucket on their head.

I feel so bad for Ragatha. Not only has she been hard on herself for thinking she only drives her friends away by always trying to be positive, but she's been holding back on speaking about Ribbit for all this time, all because Jax made her promise never to speak her name again...

Jax getting angry over thinking Pomni's accusing him of causing someone else to Abstract with his attitude hits a lot harder now that we know that that's exactly what he did to Ribbit, and to a lesser extent with Kaufmo, and he's convinced everyone else blames him for that.

It’s especially poignant to hear this speech about accepting your flaws from Zooble, when they’ve been struggling with accepting the body they’ve been given in the Circus. Like they said, loving yourself, even the parts of you that feel like your worst, is a choice you yourself have to make.

Poor Ribbit. It really shows what a caring friend she was that she apologized to Jax first thing the next day if she made him uncomfortable with confiding in her. Unfortunately, that was the beginning of the end for the two of them, as Jax already started putting up his defensive walls...

Even though Pomni only started insulting Caine to distract him from finding out what Kinger was up to, you can tell she, and the others when they joined in, were genuinely venting about everything about Caine that made him such a difficult, oblivious, and self-centered host.

The fact that the camera shifts from Jax's point of view to showing his face as he tells his life story really highlights how impactful this moment was for him: the moment he let himself be vulnerable and confided in Ribbit the truth about himself.

I remember a common theory being that, with Caine gone, the Abstractions might break loose, and that Jax might even be responsible for it as a last act of pettiness. Zooble's choice of words does make it seem that might be the case at first glance, until the truth hits like a charging rhino...

It's interesting how Jax believed that, if Ragatha had Abstracted before he did, Pomni would try to reach out to him the way Kaufmo and Ragatha both did when Ribbit was gone, though he also saw her as having a savior complex, believing she's the 'only one' who can understand and 'fix' him.

With how desperate she initially was to find a way out of the Circus, it really speaks volumes for how much Pomni has grown as a character that she's the one to admit the hard truth: they need to stop looking for an escape, and just live their lives the best they can in their new home.
