I have one video from college football saved on my from phone that is now 8 years old. Still cracks me up. What is this Utah coach doing? Who cops a feel like this after helping someone up?

Quick reminder of one of Bill's greatest hits: www.oregonlive.com/sports/2024/...

I realize that “Pioneers” probably does not mean the same thing to me, a seventh-generation Oregonian who has long taken pride in ancestors who arrived on the Oregon Trail, as it does to descendants of the Indigenous people who were displaced and killed with the arrival of white settlers.

History has a knack for examining the people who came here and forced others off their land with a non-critical eye. But it is also those same people to whom we owe Oregon’s statehood and the society we now inhabit.

So it is complicated.

Ok, this is the best I can do. Obviously I like it a lot less, I I could talk myself into it given what we are left with. I actually like it less for MIL, but it does speed things up.

This is the future I want. Can we make it happen?

Trade Machine Success!

Bucks get Jerami Grant, Scoot Henderson, and draft picks
Suns get Jrue Holiday, Shaedon Sharpe, and draft picks
Blazers get Giannis Antetonkoumpo and Devin Booker

Would this do it for you? Grant, Scoot, 4x FRPs (2x swaps) and 2x SRPs?

Doc Jock Tags @blazersunitracker.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

Ok how about this one. Booker’s 5 years younger than Kawhi. Lillard/Wesley/Love Booker/Tisse Deni/Toumani Giannis/Sidy Clingan/RWIII/Yang Giannis (31), Booker (29), RWIII (28), Camara (26), Deni (25), Clingan (22) That’s a championship window that should stay open at least 4-5 years, right?

NBA Mock trade - SUCCESS!

Suns get Jrue Holiday, Shaedon Sharpe, and draft picks
Blazers get Giannis Antetonkoumpo and Devin Booker

I don't spend much time on other social media sites, but apparently this is getting traction. Did I speak the death of Doug Fur into existence? Oh no - what I have I done?

Tweet from SportsBusiness radio saying a source doesn't thing Tom Dunon wants to pay for two mascots.

Bill Oram saying he's heard the same thing.

A Portland Pickles instagram picture of adoption papers for Blaze.

The caption from the Portland Pikles Instagram post saying they'd welcome either mascot with open arms if Tom Dundon fires one.

There is no way Tom Dundon is going keep paying for two mascots.

The Blazers two mascots, Doug Fur and Blaze the Trail Cat. Sadly, new owner Tom Dundon is going to have to put one down.

TBH I absolutely hate that THESE are the headlines the Blazers are getting during the team's return to the playoffs. The players deserve so much more, this has been an amazing season and it should be a competitive series. That said, it's good this dude's true colors are shining through so quickly.

Headlines ripping Blazers owner Tom Dundon for being cheap and cost-cutting.

$8B Expansion Fee x 2 Teams = $16B $16B / 30 current teams = $533,333,333 windfall per team. $533M = 80% of the estimated $675M needed to renovate the Moda Center. If this happens, Tom Dundon will be able to repay OR taxpayers nearly every penny he needs for his arena project in just a few years.

Text from the Athletic article regarding impending NBA expansion reads;
"Industry sources have opined in recent months that an expansion fee could run as high as $8 billion per team. Team governors do not have to split expansion fee revenues with the players."

Fun read from the Seattle Times regarding the opening of the Rose Garden in 1996. Rip City, we used to have an incredible owner. RIP Paul Allen. archive.seattletimes.com/archive/1996...

Excerpt from the article: "These things usually are driven by an owner's ego, and owners typically are so busy, they want to take shortcuts," Marshall Glickman, a former Blazer official who oversaw the project recently told The Oregonian.

"So they march into the mayor's office and say, `Here's my list, are you going to give me what I want? And if you don't, I might be in Nashville next week.' But thankfully, Paul wasn't like that."

All that tax money goes into the state’s General Fund right now, which pays for a bunch of stuff including schools. The majority of OR’s public school money comes from that General Fund. They want to pull $350M of their contributions out and put it into the arena instead. That’s a problem for me.

Graph showing that 40% of Oregon’s State General Fund is spend on public education.

I guess we're halfway through the season.... might was post some uniform stats. Through 41 games, the Blazers record in each uniform is as follows. 1. White (Association) - 9 games - 7-2 2. PDX (City) - 10 games - 5-5 3. Black (Icon) - 9 games - 4-5 4. Red (Statement) 13 games - 3-10

This is my dream trade deadline for the Trail Blazers. No idea how Indiana would feel about it. It strikes me as one of those trades where both teams feel like they're giving up too much, but in reality it's pretty even and makes a lot of sense for both teams and how they're constructed.

Pacers Acquire: Matisse Thybulle, Scoot Henderson, Kris Murray
Trail Blazers Acquire: Andrew Nembhard, Jarace Walker

I've seen enough. The Oregon Ducks new basketball uniforms are a major downgrade. A long overdue update, but ultimately a major downgrade. Hopefully they roll out a new set next year.

Oregon Ducks basketball player Jackson Shelstad in a white uniform with green "DUCKS" on the front. The look is pretty meh, tbh.

These were the Blazers’ City and Statement uniforms the last time Damian Lillard played for us. There’s a metaphor in here about treading water and refusing to move on.
