One of the quirks of hawaii as a state is that local banks managed to stay separate from the big mainland ones, so there’s a mix of rainbow capitalism and just its members being queer that kept them safer. Heck, Hawaiian/Alaska is the parade starter since queer flight attendants are a big group.

I know this is probably a minor heresy against tea, but being able to just add powder to hot water instead of dealing with steep times is so much nicer and doesn’t hit my brain in bad ways. It is very good even with just water instead of warm milk.

Ok, $15 is cheap for fancy hotel food. This rafute (slow cooked pork belly) is super good and is one of the times where the fanciness uplift does do work. Shoyu pork at a local place would be around the same price for a plate lunch, but here the smaller portion and fancy does show in the flavor.

Ok, this turned out even better than I expected. I found a one pot alfredo recipe and doubled it for a full bag of pasta, and then added some flaked imitation crab at the end. For a protein that costs $4.50 for my area (which is cheaper than sausage since it’s local made), it shreds beautifully.

Look upon my works and despair lol. It is a bummer even something that’s meant to be as budget as charcuterie is so pricy now. Slap a french name on a trend and suddenly getting your own cheese costs $10 a thing. It is a real bummer that lunchables are going the way of lobster. Maybe cereal too.

The joy of living on a tiny island is that everything is pricy. It was like $40 for this, but at least I get something fancy, and it’ll hopefully last two meals, especially since I’m using a cooked sausage instead of a cracker as base. Still feels fancy at least and I have half a sausage left.

Because I didn’t like the way the orange shade highlights looked on my hroth during the EW to DT update, I ended up changing his colors to focus on hair highlight balance instead of overall fur balance: I just did not vibe with the blue head hair accents even though I enjoyed it as a body pattern.

So I know eat out prices are inflated like crazy, but if I hadn’t wanted to make sure I would get the flavor profile right doing it on my own, a noodle dish like this should be under $10. I bought a computer because it was cheaper but I guess costco quality only takes you so far. Now to figure out what screw I need to loosen to fix things, and I think I found the right one? But oof.
