Got a catalogue in the mail (yeah, a rarity this day and age) and I hate that all I did was fixate on the cartoon dog mascot that appeared on every other page trying to determine if it was AI generated or not since it looked "off." It had to be taken away forcibly since I was obsessing over it. XD

Kind of a random idea when I was in a recent @ikuvaito.bsky.social stream- about how Raticate kinda has "permanent open mouth syndrome" due to the official art. Thought I'd take a stab at drawing one that was a bit more visually appealing. I forgot how spherical the design is! #art #myart

Two rough sketches of the Pokemon Raitcate. The first one (which isn't lined) is more on model with its teeth exposed and a permanent open mouth.

The second has the lower teeth not visible making it look more like it's pre-evolution, Rattata. It also has slightly more defined arms and legs.

Seriously, Raticate is basically a ball with rat features. I don't know how they made it even chubbier for its Alolan form.

This has been going around. To be honest it was pretty difficult- I've played a LOT of old NES and SNES games so it was hard to pick. Kinda wish I could have thrown some Gundam and Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2004) on there... but ah well. I'm not good with these lists XD my9games.net/en

My 9 Games That Shaped Who I Am

Top Row:
Super Mario All Stars, The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, Mega Man X2
Middle Row:
World of Warcraft, Mega Man 3, Pokemon Sapphire
Bottom Row:
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Blaster Master, Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars

If I could, I'd add all the classic and SNES Mega Man titles, Mario 1-3, World, 64, and Galaxy, Smash Bros, Gundam Battle Assault, Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam, Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2004), Gatcha Force, Sonic 1-3 and Knuckles, Sonic CD, MS Saga a New Dawn, all the early Pokemon games up to Black/White...

Too many... just too many.

I think I've done the seven stages of grief with the OOT redesigns XD I still think Link is over-designed (and if I draw him I'll be simplifying quite a bit) but he DOES fit in with his fellow Kokiri. In gameplay its not too distracting- I'm sure I'll get more used to it over time.

030

RickDias @blayaden01.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I think I've come to realize the problem (for me anyway) Link is too detailed in comparison to everyone else. He has a mishmash of textures that make him really stand out- he's extremely cluttered. I have no problem with a redesign- but he clearly stands out among the returning characters.

160

RickDias @blayaden01.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I don't know if this is a hot take or not... But I *really* don't like the direction they took the visuals in with the Ocarina of Time remake. The designs are too complex and cluttered, everything is way too detailed. It... looks wrong.

Trying to get my bearings on art again- I doodled @rattiesteps.bsky.social 's "Fitness Catrobis" again- she was a big inspiration for Sam back when I first made her. Rattie suggested I name her... part of me wants to name her Plum but Charlise was also suggested. Hmm... #art #myart #catrobis

Rattie's "Fitness Catrobis" with a bag over one shoulder and holding a weight in her left hand.

She's a light purple catrobis and is wearing a white bicep length shirt thats drooped to one side revealing her bra, and tight black yoga pants with yellow trim. She has an ear and navel piercing.

As a catrobis, she's curvaceous and bottom heavy, but not nearly as many other catrobis due to her emphasis on physical activity. She sports a feline head/face, a long neck, a scut tail, and small hooved feet.

The week has bee slow so I built a model- the HGUC RGM-89J Jegan Normal Type from Gundam F91. Its kinda funny. I like the design, but much like its F91 counterpart, its obsolete and kinda boring in comparisons with other Jegan types. I feel sorry for it and wish we had more 1/144 late UC kits.

The RGM-89J Jegan Normal Type being flanked by the RGM-89R Jegan A type on the left, and the original RGM-89 Jegan on the right.

Comparison with the HGUC 1/144 F91 Gundam F91. The Jegan isn't a large kit by any means, but in comparison with even the *slightly* oversized F91 (I think its 1/132) it towers over it.

Beryl the Cat-Fish, a green anthro cat with aquatic elements like gills, fish tail, and fins. She has several yellow "X" shaped scars on her body and her fins are tattered.

She has blue and fushia hair, wearing a black t-shirt with a skull, a red plaid skirt, torn leggings, strapped leather boots, and has piercings on her ears and tails. Her style is very goth/punk/metal/idk she looks cool lmao

So surprise, surprise, the Pika/Raichu stand-in in Palworld is my favorite. In all seriousness I love the design, and Trav has been my companion throughout the game- despite being a "starter pal." She's the MVP and mascot of my team! Traveler the Demon God of Destruction! >:D #art #myart

Traveler (or Trav) the Sparkit, an electric Pal from Palworld.

Sparkits are small yellow electric felines, and they sport a lot of visual similarities to Pikachu and Raichu- the long bolt shaped tail, the brown paws, and the general lightning/electric motifs.

Along with having somewhat of a RFB (she smiles when you pet her!)

In the corner are her in-game stats and passives- she has:
God of Destruction
Immortality
Serenity
Demon God

Was doodling yesterday and thought about this concept of a Meowscarada that had a bit of a cursed evolution- was badly poisoned when they evolved resulting in them being weakened and (being part plant) withered looking. I was inspired by @ikuvaito.bsky.social 's Meteorveil. #art #myart #wip #pmd

Rough sketches of a Meowscarada. They look thin, ragged, and parts look to be discolored and wilting. The main drawing has them with a cloak similar to those worn by some of the residents in the PMD webcomic Meteorveil. They have a hip pouch and a strap with containers on their left forarm.

Along with looking sickly, their "mask" is torn on the left side and they have a scar on their waist.

The words Serafin, Seras, and Fin are at the top.

Expression practice with the Meowscarada. The upper left bust is smiling slightiy, the one on the right is laughing, and the one at the bottom has its eyes wide with shock or surprise.

I saw @foxpopvli.bsky.social post this on the "other site" and I thought I'd put my two bits in. I'm a fairly small artist, and I love doing fanart for artists I enjoy. I've done a number for Fox, since I love their style and character designs. Its a GIFT from me to them. 1/2

Fox Poplovi replying to their own post on Twitter/X

The first post reads-
"Fanarts and compliments should be an unconditional act of support, not a means of forcing a friendship to develop." (links an image that can't be seen about parasocial relationships)

Reply post reads:
"Don't see "fanarts - emotive blackmail".

Many artists (me too) do fanart/compliments expecting nothing in return and appreciate the ones they receive heartily because they don't give them for granted.

The message is just "Don't do it expecting a sure friendship". Period."
