YES! ageism is real, esp as a woman! If you're 45-50+ & trying to get back into the job market after 1 yr+ off (for whatever reason), you'll be lucky to get 1 phone interview for every 100 job apps. Low wage jobs say you're over-qualified. Older people are working 3 PT jobs because they have to.
