I need an "I ❤️ Amtrak" shirt to wear when I fly lol

I love @amtrak.com so much! (especially compared to my recent airline travel) I was able to call and get exactly what I wanted (dates, times, specific train) and it ended up way cheaper than I expected. but most importantly the lady was just so nice! the customer service is just the best!!

looks like I'm going to Oregon at the end of this month. mostly because I have once again succumbed to the cultural pressure of being the eldest daughter. but also too many things fell perfectly into place that it just seemed "meant to be." at least the train view will be beautiful fall leaves...

the terrible quality of this photo is brought to you by Geffen Hates People In Wheelchairs. and it's one of the best pics I got. I did not have the same issues inside BCAM or Resnick. (tho getting into Resnick is super steep and I needed help. my shoulder was reaching the end of it's day by then)

I did go out of my way to see the print that LACMA has, and I swear it gets smaller every time I see one. But I still love it. Why does wooshy waves make my brain so happy?

A woodblock print of The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai. It depicts a large wave in the ocean with Mt Fuji in the background.

IT IS SPARKLY LEAF JEWELRY SEASON Y’ALL

A photo of four necklaces, five pendants, and three pairs of earrings on a wooden workbench. They are all made with colorful glass beads shaped like maple leaves and swirly silver wire.

I have a new variation of dyed tiger’s eye. About to start getting these onto the website. They’re all one of a kind. The leaves will go up after that.

A collage of eight photos of jewelry made with dyed tiger’s eye and swirly silver wire. The tiger’s eye is dyed in shades of red, teal, dark blue, and green with a little purple.

p.s. where else can I get ink samples to try other than goulet?

010

bramble @blamblelore.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

after looking into it, this pen's future is not ✨sparkly✨ ink, because it's an extra fine nib. but I did want something waterproof (still not over loosing 2 years of tea journaling by spilling tea on it) but I can't decide between De Atramentis Document Green or Moss Green

120

bramble @blamblelore.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

ngl I probably wouldn't have gotten it except it was so cute and LE and the last one they had and was an extra-fine nib (which I prefer) and it all just seemed very "meant to be." I wouldn't have gotten one of the plain colors

the fountain pen that really stole my heart was the green Diplomat Viper, but I didn't have that much money. maybe Christmas or my birthday. www.gouletpens.com/products/dip...

This greeb chiseled metal fountain pen has a hooded steel nib in fine/medium, a magnetic cap, and fills via cartridge/converter.

no you impulse bought a fountain pen today (it's a cherry blossom TWSBI ECO) although I'm kinda scared of a pen that doesn't use cartridges, this is a chance to get a ✨sparkly✨ green ink of some sort (feel free to recommend something)

In its box is a fountain pen with a white cap and base, and a transparent body, that has pink cherry blossom designs on the cap and body. Next to the pen is a special little wrench made for the base of the pen to help it suck up the ink.

I asked if they could do the ceremonial matcha just as the tea (not adding milk etc) and they said no?! what the actual fuck

the displays are also literally growing mold, so it clearly is in desperate need of a remodel anyway. but include wheelchair users in that planning PLEASE. I'm begging you. (the last time I was in museum this bad was the Kimball in Fort Worth in 2016, and I have gone to a lot of museums since then)

120

bramble @blamblelore.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

the gems & minerals regular collection rooms at @ngm.org are outrageously inaccessible for wheelchair users, in multiple ways. it was so frustrating I kinda wanted to cry. I swear museums need to hire someone in a wheelchair to just go through and tell them everything they need to improve.

and I'm not fishing for sympathy. but I think it is a sort of projection? like, I know what is feels like to be denied being able to go, and I don't want anyone else to feel that same feeling. just like no wheelchair space for me, I don't want me to be the thing holding someone else back...

030

bramble @blamblelore.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

but it made me stop and think about how many hundreds of times when I'm denied acess, I encourage the abled folks in my life to go without me. (even though I am a far bigger fan of jon batiste than my dad. who likes him, don't get me wrong, just not nearly as much. I'm still like "go without me")

110

bramble @blamblelore.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

jon batiste is playing the hollywood bowl tonight which would be AMAZING to get to go to. so my dad called the number to get wheelchair seating - and they're no longer available. so I instantly said "you can go without me" and the person on the phone (dad had it on speakerphone) went "awwwww"

mainly for @magnolica.bsky.social - the fact that the streets are lined with palm trees is a real thing that totally looks fictional. (also included a classic american yellow school bus) [there will be a video in the next post]

100

bramble @blamblelore.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

it really feels like a missed opportunity that we don't have fan chants for individual players. like the way there are fan chants for k-pop bands, and also specific songs. for example: want a Ohtani-specific chant when he is up for bat or whatever lol
