I love @amtrak.com so much! (especially compared to my recent airline travel) I was able to call and get exactly what I wanted (dates, times, specific train) and it ended up way cheaper than I expected. but most importantly the lady was just so nice! the customer service is just the best!!

looks like I'm going to Oregon at the end of this month. mostly because I have once again succumbed to the cultural pressure of being the eldest daughter. but also too many things fell perfectly into place that it just seemed "meant to be." at least the train view will be beautiful fall leaves...

I did go out of my way to see the print that LACMA has, and I swear it gets smaller every time I see one. But I still love it. Why does wooshy waves make my brain so happy?

no you impulse bought a fountain pen today (it's a cherry blossom TWSBI ECO) although I'm kinda scared of a pen that doesn't use cartridges, this is a chance to get a ✨sparkly✨ green ink of some sort (feel free to recommend something)

In its box is a fountain pen with a white cap and base, and a transparent body, that has pink cherry blossom designs on the cap and body. Next to the pen is a special little wrench made for the base of the pen to help it suck up the ink.

the gems & minerals regular collection rooms at @ngm.org are outrageously inaccessible for wheelchair users, in multiple ways. it was so frustrating I kinda wanted to cry. I swear museums need to hire someone in a wheelchair to just go through and tell them everything they need to improve.

it's been a fight to get my dad to take meds, so today I made him a checklist with the times, and put the meds in a bowl. then I made him take the 11:35am meds and check them off himself, while I hovered a safe distance away like a vulture but in a mask armed with lysol wipes.

Cute dinosaur stationary with three medications and check boxes with the times my dad is supposed to take them. The first time for each is checked off.

I regret not buying this cheese yesterday. (and an earl grey to go with it, since all I have with me are a jasmine green and two herbal teas)

getting this home is a problem for future me, but everyone in the shop was super lovely and I wanted to buy all the things. (I would have gotten more of the dark purple if they'd had it.) they also invited me to an online group they have, so I'm excited to check that out when I get home!

today we drive from Palm Springs to Pasadena. I'm trying to get my dad to stop at a yarn &etc co-op in Redlands, where I might be able to buy some fiber. I brought my turkish spindle, but not a lot of fiber. (there's also a shop in Pasadena I might check out, but I don't know how game my dad is)
