More Bengaluru things happening this week! Readings from HOMOSEXUAL INTIFADA RSVP: forms.gle/VQkP53QggjRw...
Hello folks 👋🏾

Honouring the queer Palestinians --- invisiblised, pushed to the margins, exploited in the name of a genocide. This October 7th we will hold a shared reading, to amplify their voices, to hear their truths.

In the ruins of a centuries-old city, a soldier waves the pride flag. His grin is bright and ebullient. The flag is a vibrant, flimsy flutter, emblazoned with the words "In the name of love".

You cannot destroy a people and say it is love. You cannot destroy a people and say it is for us. Queer, trans and allied people stand with Palestine. We deserve the dignity of telling our stories, our way.

Our intention is to hold space for resistance for the Imperalist and Zionist occupation in Gaza and West Bank through collective reading of Homosexual Intifada: A Queer Palestinian Anthology, edited by Hannah Moushabeck & George Abraham.

Please register to RSVP:

Blaft means "bark" (i.e., like a dog) in Dutch. We didn't know that when we named the company. Now that our books are getting sold in stores in Amsterdam and Rotterdam... I feel like it's a pretty good-sounding name for a publishing house, in Dutch? www.donner.nl/producten/th...

"As a token of our appreciation, we would like to present you with a special something" www.blaft.com/collections/...
An excerpt from "You Have Us All Late and Follow"

"As a token of our appreciation, we would like to present you with a special something."

The kidney thief unfurls a newspaper and clears her throat.

"You Have Always Been Late," she reads.

"What?"

"It works better if you write it down. Write it on your hand or something."

"I don't have a pen."

"I'll repeat it if you like. You Follow and Make Us Late All the Time."

"That's not what you said the first time."

"Write it down, why aren't you writing this down?"

Puratchimani's Mess sinks deeper into the sand, burying the kidney thief up to the neck.

"You Follow what?" I ask. "What did you say?

The sand shudders and heaves, swallowing the kidney thief along with Puratchimani's Mess.

K: I’m having a Man With The Pipe Movie Marathon.
S: Is that porn? You’re doing a porn marathon?
K: No, it’s all these old movies that have The Man With The Pipe in them. You know, that guy with the gray hair, suspenders, moustache, pipe. He sort of just stands on large winding staircases and says ‘Jolly good!’ or ‘I say you get out!’
S: Oh right! I saw a movie where this dude also stole radioactive things that looked like tubelights and hid them in his briefcase.
K: I saw a movie where he kept whipping his wife with his belt.
S: His pants didn’t fall down?
K: No, he’s got suspenders, remember?
S: So he’s smart AND sexy!
K: There was this scene where he’s whipping his wife and she’s hugging his legs and he’s trying to shake her off, like ‘Get off me so I can whip you better.’
S: I’ve never understood that, why would you grab the legs of someone who wants to whip you to death?
K: I know, right? And you know what the Leg-Hugging Woman says? She says ‘You can beat me, kick me, even kill me. But please just tell me what I did to deserve this.’
S: That is fucking amazing.
K: Then things get very complicated. First the Hero slaps the Heroine because she’s arrogant and speaks English and wears pants. Then she falls in love with him and starts wearing saris.
