Golf Cart One (2026) - my new sculpture at the @lucasmuseum.bsky.social in LA. A life-sized, cast-aluminium, militarised presidential golf cart, commissioned for the museum by George Lucas and based on a 1:12 scale model version I made back in 2017.

Photo in the museum of the golf cart covered in an absurd amount of weapons, including a nuclear missile, artillery, mini guns and a machine gun on the roof, on a golf green base with a US flag sticking out the golf hole and a putting golf club bent in half on the ground

Currently nibbling a blast from the past. I hadn't seen Treets for decades until I just spotted a pack in a Swiss supermarket.

I recently inherited an old 1981 card game called Dragonmaster that features superb art by Bob Pepper (1938-2019). High quality scans of the deck below. Not sci-fi but seems like an artist @70sscifiart.bsky.social might know more about? #dragonmaster #cardgame #bobpepper

Four vintage 'found photos' I came across recently that invite further explanation.

Smiling women display a bloodied mattress

2 plants (named as Julia and Margie) and a girl (named as Arthur)

WWII German officer poses with garden gnomes

Victorian (?) street. woman and dog in the BG. In the FG an effigy of a woman.

This lawsuit is brutal. One of the exhibits is the letter Universal sent to Midjourney, including a quote from a 2022 Forbes interview that I bet midjourney regrets

Universal did not permit, authorize, or license Midjourney to copy or use any of Universal's copyrighted works in connection with any version of its Image Service or to otherwise exploit Universal's works at any time. You acknowledged as much in a September 16, 2022 Forbes interview in which you confirmed that Midjourney never sought any copyright holders' consent to use or exploit their works:
Did you seek consent from living artists or work still under copyright?
No. There isn't really a way to get a hundred million images and know where they're coming from. It would be cool if images had metadata embedded in them about the copyright owner or something. But that's not a thing; there's not a registry. There's no way to find a picture on the Internet, and then automatically trace it to an owner and then have any way of doing anything to authenticate it.

Today in relatable science: Gulls making a mysterious daily trip that turned out to be to a potato chip factory

A map of flight paths emanating from breeding colony of gulls, with this caption: Early on, LifeWatch noticed something odd. Most gulls were making daily trips to Mouscron, a city on the French border 65 km away. They went to investigate and found the birds bingeing on discarded snacks at the Roger & Roger potato factory.

1. The only alternative to UNRWA is a legal-political framework to address Palestinian refugees statelessness, repatriation and restitution. Otherwise, any international agency that deals with welfare and education for refugees will pretty much look like UNRWA. 1/
