The time is now for Canada to invest in clean energy. We can become an energy superpower in the installation and manufacture of wind turbines, solar power, grid-level storage and hydro generation. 🇨🇦 @mark-carney.bsky.social @juliedabrusin.bsky.social @liberalca.bsky.social

Not only is 29% of Diablo Canyon's annual generation wasted, but the plant is only open due to a gift to PG&E PG&E took a $1.4 bil loan & "the state may be required to forgive as much as $588 mil" CA gave PG&E a huge loan to run DC. Losses are mounting www.sanluisobispo.com/news/local/a...

California gave PG&E a huge loan to run Diablo Canyon. Losses are already mounting
The state loaned the utility $1.4 billion to extend the life of California’s only nuclear power plant, but now it may need to forgive a huge chunk of that total.

Three evenings ago, from a ridge below the summit of Tantalus, and just above the smoke blanketing everything below, we watched one of these pyroCb systems punch upwards out of the Chilcotin to the north, and then another punch up somewhere out to the southeast. They looked like volcanic eruptions.

It's funny. Big Oil could've pioneered this market when they were going to be Energy companies. When they eventually return to their senses, they'll have lost out bigly. Truly pea-brained dinosaurs.

Air pollution is the biggest environmental risk to our health. Right now, your councillor is deciding what changes to deliver for your community. This #CleanAirDay, write to them and ensure clean air is on their agenda: cleanairday.org.uk
"Air pollution harms every organ in your body causing heart and lung disease, dementia and strokes. Learn more at cleanairhub.org.uk"

Animated images of a pregnant person, a child on a scooter, an adult walking, and an elderly person with a walking stick. A rounded dotted line is attached to each person linking up to a circle appearing above them. Each circle has a pink animated graphic inside, indicating a part of their body affected my air pollution. From left to right appears a foetus, lungs, a heart and a brain.

Clean Air fund, global action plan and clean air day logo appear on the bottom left hand side.

I urged all members to reject the removal of the Digital Services Tax. Letting US big tech off the hook means walking away from $7.2B that could fund public services and infrastructure. We should not be abandoning Canadian policy simply because of pressure from Donald Trump.

In the 60's, there was an Army Corps of Engineers model of the Bay in a building near that very spot? We would visit it on school field trips. I remember watching -- mesmerized -- how the water would slowly rise and infiltrate various and vast areas of the Bay. Ironic.
