Got around to watching some anime. I liked these guys in Super Robot Wars and wanted to check it out. I'm 7 episodes in and it's fine. I'm not crazy about it but it's been interesting. Feels a bit like Trigun or Gurren Lagann, though it came out a year prior to GL.

Shot of the main characters of Gun X Sword. Vann is a grim faced dude in a black suit. Wendy is a baby faced kid who's along for the ride.

Did my first stream in forever. That was cool. Been very into Rift Wizard 3 lately. Apparently the dev dropped by, that was sick. Had a good run. Played a build I understood, got my worm/dark/fire build to pop off. Thanks to all the crew that swung by, appreciate it!

I thought I was going to get so much done on the weekend. Instead, sick mode. Got a nice 16 hour sleep in and I was good, but that did account for most of the weekend. Got a little Rift Wizard 3. Messed around with the worm spell. That's pretty good

Woah. Just cracked into a hard drive I haven't touched since 2016. Actual Blade time capsule. The music playlist really got me, what's stayed and gone. I think I got introduced to these guys from Psychopass. This was my moving song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cf_...

I should do things again. Been very sedentary lately. Not, like, physically. God, I'm working hard. But, like, after work I just kind of exist, sleep and repeat. I've been back for how long? 3 months? Man. I gotta do stuff again

030

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Feeling a little better these days. Things aren't improving, but I think I'm acclimating to my normal lifestyle again. I went from a mentality of, "this sucks, there's no way I can do this for 8 more years," to, "eh, this isn't so bad."

What the- I thought this was DLC for Darkest Dungeon 2. Nono, this is just more Darkest Dungeon. Huh. That's interesting. I, uh, never did beat the original. Dangerous

Been thinking of trying to un-V my tuber. It would be nice to be more expressive, without going into the huge deep dive that is a dramatic model upgrade. Kinda scary, though. It's not like you can just go back, right?

Been trying to go to bed after work and wake up early, have more alert and productive hours. I have instead slept about 10 or so hours, every day. I set an alarm today, woke up, said, "fuck that" and went back to bed. Hrmm. Rest stat go up but fun and creativity stat go down. Sim Blade is struggle

Still very sucked into FF14. Been wanting to do a video on the ARR experience, but felt I was under-qualified to tell the full story. Been doing lots of research. This includes the slow level of all classes to 50. That is taking a while. But hey, look at my little psycho fit, that's nice

It's Friday baybeeee! Almost made it to the weekend. Nothing crazy in Blade land. Figuring stuff out. Think I'm gonna do a weekend only stream schedule, with rare and random guerillas on the weekday. My ass is busy, man. Also, FF14 progress. Almost at Ishgard, I think (finally)

Blade Hacksaw has escaped containment. Finally! Huzzah! I am no longer in the land of heat and sand. Still getting things back to normal. Expecting to be stateside in a couple days. Gonna try to do some cool stuff soon!

Remember that curry I was eating In Korea? About 1.5 years back. I ordered some out here and was slowly working through it. I had 8 of 'em and figured if I ate 1 a week, it'd run out at about the time when I was leaving. But that was about 100 days ago. I've been sitting on my last one.

Looking over the stuff I wrote a month ago (a month! How has it been a month?) and I'm smiling and laughing at the prose. I remember being very put off by the stuff I wrote for the MC but I'm quite pleased with the supporting cast.

010

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

Still kicking. The days are just dragging. Trapped in sand hell with no projected out date. We're a little over a week away fromnthe 8 month mark. So that's devastating. Fantasizing about what to do when I get back. I want to do really low-effort self-improvement/co-work streams. And JRPGs. Someday

030

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 20/05/2026

So. No longer feeling optimistic about leaving here. I think the gameplan is to keep us until the war is resolved. And I do not believe that is something this administration is capable of accomplishing. I think it's very possible I spend a full year here. Sure hope I'm wrong

So, things are kind of normalizing. Just bought a fresh razor, the first I've had in a little over a month. I ran out during the time of troubles and we finally got a restock in. Shaving has been roooough. Less shaving and more pulling the hairs out my face with a dull blade.

Mama Hacksaw suddenly messaged me to talk about the Kentucky Derby. We have never spoken about horses ever. Apparently it was a miraculous from nowhere victory by Gold... Tempo. Huh. Interesting. Umamusume has influenced me in dangerous ways. Instantly checked the lineage and backstory. Cool face

Gold Tempo, kind of has a main character face mark thing going on

More PS1 classic Granstream Saga. Laramee is ready to kill Eon but relents. She offers safety if he can bring her a bigass jewel. But this is a trap. The pirate treasure is rigged by a pressure weight. Korky the spirit beast helps by staging it all as a prank and Laramee decides to help out.

Korky the tiny bird/spirit beast is chilling in a box of jewels as the alarm blares.

Eon brings Laramee a bigass copy of a jewel as conjured by his bracer. She buys into the wholr save the girl story and decides to help out

The pirate crew (called the Desbats) report to Laramee that Korky was screwing with the alarms. The punishment is dire. No justice in this world!

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

Right. So Valos gets a sidequest to rescue a child and teleports to an underground dungeon that was unearthed during the island chopping. Eon joins because he's a meddler. Various tropey things occur, essentially pegging Eon as a destined MC. Valos teleports the kids to town but stays to do stuff.

Eon and Valos of PS1 ARPG Granstream Saga. Eon is a strapping young lad. Valos is a stereotypical old man mentor who looks like he won't survive the intro.

Oh yeah, Eon saved some baby birds. Look at these little idiota, they have no idea what's going on.

This armor animated and tried to murder Eon. It had laser blasts. Eon also has a magical bracer (which the game insists on calling a sceptor) that is doing weird stuff with the ruins. He can just conjure a sword and armor now. He also picked up the wind orb, which will probably be important

Old men discuss the world. There's an Empire and they seem bad. And there's pirates working for The Empire. Sky pirates. Skyrates!

120

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 27/04/2026

Okay. So, we've got MC Eon and mentor Valos here and they're chopping up this island. In the sky. Sky island. But why?

Still dealing with some stuff. I got a tooth pulled, did I mention that? It has been a great excuse to not do anything. Continuing that streak with Granstream saga, another classic PS1 title. This one is a little weird, start to finish. But hey, more 90s anime screenshots incoming.

Granstream Saga, very influential game to a young Blade. Never beat it though! Hopefully changing that

140

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 27/04/2026

Okay! And Thousand Arms is done. Final 2 dungeons were much faster and straight forward, no conplaints there. I liked thesr silly Magatama enemies. They just chill till they're injured. So, uh, yeah, winning strategy was to run away. Also, secret 6th flame and ghost master. Hey Jyabil.

140

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 26/04/2026

Getting very close to the end of Thousand Arms. Disc 2 hit and they said, "Time to wrap this up!" Schmidt is done, Shaft is done, the enemy fortress is bested (after an extremely long dungeon crawl). Now we're pulling an FF4 and going to the moon. Need a break though. That dungeon was sooooo long

Last fight against Schmidt. Very tropey, though the end with his support, Jaela, was very dramatic.

Shaft, last of the evil mecha 5. This is his only angle. This guy killed a major character! But his fight had 0 buildup. I'm also insanely overleveled. Dude was doing 26 damage to my 2500 hp Muza once buffs were up. Can't believe it takes so long to get through the dungeons, encounter rate is ridiculously high

Doing a design doc for Zell on the protagonist, finally. Was thinking of doing a create a character/multiple choice thing, but I'm settling on one. But now I've got to figure out a design for the boooooy! I'm so bad at character design and I'm really struggling to put this one together. Buh

Muza out here about to drop machine slurs. Chill out man. And then the affinity up sound effect plays as Wyna says his name. That's what did it? Dang lady.

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

WOAH! That was so many frames of animation, holy crap! The 90s were built different! Meis over here sees a giant sword ship charging him, which we just saw destroy a city, and just blocks it. Yeah, casually block that.

Meis of Thousand Arms blocking a bigass sword ship

Still Thousand Arms posting. 2 sacred flames and 2 evil mecha left. Did some poking around. Read that there was a girl in the ship that I missed, she's cute. Nelsha's been fun to have on the crew. Kyleen though... that coulda been Ratchet, all i'm saying. Her blush face is super cute tho

Kyleen suggests that perhaps you would rather spend time with other girls. Well, Kyleen, your character is that you're bitter, cynical and greedy with no redeeming qualities. Sorry Kyleen stans, your waifu is trash.

340

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

Oh helllll yeah, Ratchet encounter 2 and she's not working for the evil guys? She's just hanging out and goofing off? Surely we become friends after this! Right?

Ratchet, from PS1 JRPG Thousand Arms. She's a robot girl and the best character in the game. Also a bad guy.

140

Blade_Hacksaw, Casual Vtuber @bladehacksaw.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

Oh no. She can't be a bad guy! Look at that face! This is a crime! Please give the option to fix her. The game has introduced a genius mechanic, puhleeeze let us be friends with the evil robot girl!

I can't believe: 1. DBFZ got another update and character. 2. That it's ANOTHER GOKU. There's, like, 13. That might not be an exaggeration. SSJ, Blue, Base, Gogeta Blue, SS4 Gogeta, Black, Kid, UI, Vegitto. That's 9. 10 if we count Fused Zanmasu, which still has a Goku in there. Add one more now

Been doing more thinking and writing. Think I'm restarting this thing again. I like one of the characters WAY too much, which is a new reason to restart. Predicting issues from them though. Trying again, take 3 for this story, this year. This is, like, take 7 overall, jeez

Got a little writing done today. Wrote 700 words, realized I was bludgeoning the reader with exposition. Restarted, got another 500 out that was all character dynamics. Much better. I'll see if I can keep it up. Ready to get this thing started!
