These models can't self-improve. It's the opposite: AI companies are putting a lot of efforts to prevent feeding AI-generated content to AI models because they self-rot. You should be discussing the real harm these companies are causing today to people and businesses and make them accountable.

8. often, when people say LLMs "can do" something they mean LLMs can produce output that looks like the output of doing something 9. producing something that looks like the output of doing something is not the same thing as doing it

Particularly because structural equality checks have a cost that you don't have to pay with strong skipping mode.

Yes I understand that's why your example works. But even when using a god state object you could limit the state changes by properly filtering the duplicates at the ViewModel level before adding them to the god state. I think it's more productive to limit creating new instances at the source.
100
Christophe B. @bladecoder.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Or alternatively the ViewModel could use distinctUntilChanged() to limit state changes. IMO it's better to optimize state changes at the source in the ViewModel than focusing on stability at the end of the chain which is like a workaround.

Christophe B. @bladecoder.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Yes but then when you observe that Flow using collectAsState() in Compose it will automatically de-duplicate identical lists by doing a structural equality check so stability won't matter as much. This should also be mentioned.

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.
A screenshot of an email viewed in dark mode with the subject line "Google DMCA Violation." The email from Google informs the recipient that they have received a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that some of their materials allegedly infringe on copyrights. It explains the removal process, mentions that notice details will be posted on Lumen, warns against repeated violations, and lists one affected Google Drive URL at the bottomA nearly identical mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It shows a search for the same Amnesty International UK resources URL, resulting in the same message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."A mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.

I find your article a bit misleading. The reason why the unchanged list recomposes on every state update in your demo is because the code creates a new copy of the list every time it updates the state, apparently for no other reason than forcing a recomposition for dramatic effect.

The underclocking is the most interesting aspect, as both the CPU and GPU provide better performance per watt at lower power levels than their stock settings. This also allows to keep the temperatures under control with the fans running at low speed.

I did my best to make it as compact and quiet as possible. I used a Sugo SG13 case with a SFX-L power supply, Noctua CPU and case fans, an underclocked AMD 7500F CPU and an underclocked AMD 9060 XT GPU. It has 2GB SSD, 32GB RAM and 16GB video memory.

Building your own "Steam Machine" is now trendy. By chance I did this exactly one year ago when the Steam Machine was not announced yet and the prices of SSDs and RAM were still normal. My machine cost me the same price as the base model from Valve, with more power and double the memory.
