Scene at a tournament in the 1300s: A knight in full armor on his horse (only without the helmet, which a page is carrying) rides up to a richly decorated stand of spectators. Subverting the expectation that he'd ask for a "lady's favor", he instead receives said favor from another, younger man who is tying a ribbon around the knight's jousting lance. Ladies look on surprised/shocked/delighted.

I haven't used it in my coding because like you said, deskilling can happen FAST, but I've been strong armed into at least having to understand this stuff and how it can be applied with some semblance of ethics given the fact my job is demanding we integrate it.

These tech bros have made AI (which I hate that humanizing term, they're algorithms with large data sets.) synonymous with chatbots and image aggregation when there's smaller, more effective, and way less intrusive uses for it. But that doesnt give them money or control over our lives.

Not every model is created equally, and there are open source models being created that are making these tech bros VERY anxious and I'm all for it. Also models that are used for say, going through data or like in Dune for motion tracking eyes, aren't nearly as resource intensive

I don't like where llm and gen AI is right now. I think open AI is run by a bunch of freaks (we know now Th13l literally helped create 1nc3l culture with 3pstein) It needs to be regulated. Heavily. But that doesn't mean it has no responsible use in science and tech for data analysis & automation
