I half-abducted two ships last night to drag them to a fireworks display. One of them had @shutupmeg13.bsky.social on board. Felt more like early-days #seaofthieves than I've felt in years! The Weekenders are a fantastic inclusion. MORE COOPERATIVE OBJECTIVES, A-LA BILGE RAT THRONES, YESSS!

A fancily dressed pirate throws confetti from an equally fancy bucket. He stands between two ghosts, a fish person, and two other pirates as fireworks explode overhead.

the summary of my thoughts. peace and power to the victims. #SeaOfThieves

I haven’t stopped feeling the urge to throw up the last couple days. Nothing has made me able to shake the feeling of guilt on my conscious. When I broke up with Bruno I spent months agonising over whether or not I was too harsh, or took it too far by being public about it. I realise now this is just testament to how effective and pathological his manipulation was. But I still can’t shake the shame and anger I feel.

So I can’t even imagine how much worse the victims must feel. Another has come forward, and I suspect they won’t be the last. And if the people being the loudest about all this truly care even a little bit about what they profess too then their focus- all of our focus- should be set squarely on supporting the victims. That one person has already had to clarify that they were not a “pedo supporter” but were, in fact, also manipulated and used ought to get it through to peoples’ heads that the dramatisation of suffering serves to help no one (except those with the gall to go on monetised “rants” about it on streams and videos).

That said, I do understand the anger. That Bruno was made a Boatswain- despite the vote leading to a consensus ‘no’ against him being so- was the most inane, ridiculous and irresponsible thing the SoT community team could have possibly done. Sure, they couldn’t have known the worst of his actions. But they knew enough. We all knew that he had made sexual jokes with a minor of HALF his age whom he sailed with regularly. If that wasn’t a glaring warning sign against giving him a position of prestige within the community then I’m not sure what else could have been. I give the community team full credit for how quick they were to not only demote Bruno, but ban him from the game altogether after his predatory actions were brought to light. But he simply should not have had that position in the first place. I don’t expect Rare, a Microsoft-owned corporate studio, to make an official statement on what is now a legal issue. But is it too…

@rare.co.uk has provided most of my best gaming memories, through the good, the bad, AND the Ghoulies.😅 Things are certainly in a rough spot, but I have confidence we'll see the studio shine as they did in its heyday. Happy 40th, Rare! May your horizons always be gleaming!

40 years of @rare.co.uk. From devoted Rare gamers to single-series stalwarts, we want to show our appreciation for anyone who's visited even just one of our worlds. For keeping an assorted ragtag of creatives working magic in the Midlands, only two words will do: THANK YOU 💙💛

Theatre seating contains a range of characters from Rare games, including Banjo and Kazooie, Conker, Rash from Battletoads, Mr. Pants, Joanna Dark and Elvis from Perfect Dark, Lesedi from Sea of Thieves, Mr. Ribs from Grabbed by the Ghoulies and various Piñatas from Viva Piñata. Some are just sat smiling, while others are getting up to mischief.

Trying to plan the perfect heist, but your visage is too familiar? Then Blackeye's Facial Faker Ointment is the concoction for you! Become temporarily unrecognizable with a quick dab of goo, and all of your best thefts will go according to plan! Art by @vipooer.bsky.social #SeaofThieves

A charismatic pirate with a brilliant 'stache and mutton chops leans out a tavern window, his left hand gripping the top of the frame. His right hand holds a small tub of topical cream, the contents glowing a brilliant cyan. Below the window are three identical faces demonstrating the effects of the ointment. The 2nd face is half covered in the glowing cream. The third face has been halfway transformed, the right half having changed hair, skin, and eye color, along with a different array of facial hair.
Above the window is a large crest bearing the words, "Blackeye's Facial Faker Ointment". Below that is a subtitle reading, "Washes Off!! Non-Permanant!!"
