Don't make Dylan hold the Idiot Ball for the plot. They can still be doomed. Just with the amount of Smart People around let me tell someone "Hey... someone check in on NPC. I'm worried." But if that is my only gripe in the game so far after hours of playime. Solid game.

It seems that for this time FA has met their goal of needed funding but this bit in the GoFundMe was very informative. I still hold that the Wikipedia principle stands here. You don't need to get fa+ (though it helps), but if everyone on FA who uses it for free sent over $1 per month it'd be good.

TL;DR of my last thread post: Preserve 20 years of furry history. Throw a dollar to FA now and then. You don't need to get a subscription or whatever... But if even half of the people who use the site for free do it, the lights can stay on for a lot longer still.

FA is still just FA. Fairly unpretentious. Make a gallery, add a journal/blog. Link to your other haunts if you want to. I believe there's a forum. Complain about its limited features but it has endured for over 20 years. That's 20 years of collective furry history that would otherwise vanish.

None of these places are actually even proper 'Furry' spaces. The moment one of these gets a bug up their ass about us it's over. As for the alternatives?

You linked from your blogs or own websites TO VCL. Not any other way around. And any way to be 'discovered' by the community is to hope that any chatrooms, IRC servers or MUCK inhabitants happened to see you and shared your art around. Instead of the much larger footprint FA offers.

I remember checking in daily to see if there's any neat new content and being all caught up within 2-3 pages of submissions. If you liked something there, better download and save it or bookmark it because there were no 'favourites', there were no comments, no journals.

Because forasmuch people like to gripe about FA, it really has become much of a hub of the community and it really doesn't try to be a lot more than it is. And trust me, it could be worse. I remember VCL; The Vixen Controlled Library. That really was just a database with a basic front end.

I already reposted this but I think this merits a little more. We're pretty much at the Wikipedia tipping point on FA. If everyone who uses the site without a subscription or whatnot would donate the equivalent of $1 now and then, then there wouldn't be such trouble to keep the lights on.

And even then the plot resolved with Supes remaining more or less true by 'disappearing' rather than becoming a global despot. You can make a subversion of a known setting and not just rip it a new one.
