New paper from @jakeberv.bsky.social harnesses a massive skeletal measurement dataset for passerines to show nested bursts in phenotypic evolution, many of which appear coincident with intervals of climate instability. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

This is unfortunate, leading to intense financial stress (the most consuming stress IMO). Sure, my generation (Gen X) is also struggling compared to our parents' generation. However, new graduates (class of 2026 and beyond) are in for a very challenging life post higher ed.

Today is my 4th kidneyversary! On Jan 8, 2021 my mother-in-law gave me the gift of life. It allowed me to return to life, return to work, and return to being a dad and husband. This milestone is not just about my health but also about the incredible power of love, generosity, and community.
