Man, two all-timers in the space of a month. Nice job, New Yorker cartoon editors. The idea of this one is brilliant, but the execution is maybe even more so—getting the figure in the coffin to read both ways like it’s supposed to is something.
A cartoon by Paul Noth from the most recent New Yorker. It shows a coffin. On one side is an anthropomorphic rabbit in windows weeds. On the other a duck in same. In the coffin is a duck, or a rabbit, depending on how you look at the head, which is the simple head from the classic “is it a duck or a rabbit?” drawing.

I've played 133 escape rooms, and this may be my favorite thing out of any of them. It's an accessibility panel that gives players direct control over sound volume and flashing lights. (Plus it directs them to other accessibility options elsewhere in the room.) Bravo to 60 Out Hollywood!
The inside of an "Accessibility Panel" from an escape room. Text on the panel door reads, "These options are not part of any puzzle or game. They allow you to adjust the lighting and sound settings of the experience. The default settings are Volume 1, Flashing Light Effects On."

Inside the panel, a dial that allows the user to set the volume to 1, 2, or 3. A switch allows the user to turn flashing light effects on or off. Also inside the panel are two additional pieces of text: instructions on how to active the colorblind option on one puzzle; and an invitation to use a rolling chair that can be found in the room. The accessibility panel shown in the previous illustration. It is now closed, and we can see what the door looks like from the outside. The words "Accessibility Options" are written in a slick, mid-century font.

Elan Lee is totally correct- puzzles should be designed to make solvers feel smart, not dumb. Your job as a designer is to make puzzles that *can* be solved, and root for players to solve them. They should feel like they have overcome a challenge that is harder than it really is.
