#CultPsychology #Cults #Jesus #Christianity "One of the most difficult things to understand about cults is that they rarely look evil on the surface. ... Most cult leaders recruit by being useful, not by being overtly sinister." Be Scofield, The Savior Complex www.goodreads.com/book/show/25...
Screendump of the following text from Be Scofield's book, "The Savior Complex":

"Growing up Christian, I was trained to view Jesus's healings as proof of his goodness. But cult reporters know better. Just like we ignore the glowing press release and audit the bank statements, we don't assume miraculous healings equal benevolence.

In the world of high-control groups, compassion is often just the ultimate 'freemium' model. You get the free sample of care, but the hidden subscription cost is your total submission. Community care is a highly effective customer acquisition strategy.

One of the most difficult things to understand about cults is that they rarely look evil on the surface. Jim Jones built his movement on including the outcasts, the marginalized, and the elderly. He set up robust systems of charity and care, providing genuine support to many people.

Most cult leaders recruit by being useful, not by being overtly sinister. To understand how, you have to put on a different hat—one that allows you to see the world slightly differently. In this version of reality, things like food, care, love, inclusion, healing, and health care can be used for nefarious purposes."

#Misinformationer #AI #Danmark prosabladet.dk/nyheder/nyhe... Prosabladet har misforstået dette studie. Det er IKKE en liste over "de mest udsatte stillinger i forhold til AI" og kan IKKE fortolkes sådan. Forfatterne bag studiet (arxiv.org/abs/2507.07935) skriver selv følgende:
Screendump fra studiet, med følgende tekst:

"It is tempting to conclude that occupations that have high overlap with activities AI performs will be automated and thus experience job or wage loss, and that occupations with activities AI assists with will be augmented and raise wages. This would be a mistake, as our data do not include the downstream business impacts of new technology, which are very hard to predict and often counterintuitive [3]. Take the example of ATMs, which automated a core task of bank tellers, but led to an increase in the number of bank teller jobs as banks opened more branches at lower costs and tellers focused on more valuable relationship-building rather than processing deposits and withdrawals"

There are stories about objectifications & violence against humans in the Christian Bible. And there are way to many stories out there in the real world about how belief in the Bible has led to everything from low self-esteem, nightmares, trauma, suicide & people killing each other, incl. children.

You can't fix people. From www.instagram.com/p/C8KRv7butYK/
An image with a white background and the following text:

You can't fix people because they are not puzzles missing pieces. They are evolving beings, living narratives woven from experiences, emotions, and dreams. True support lies in acceptance, not in repair, and while you can't fix them, you can walk beside them, offering love and compassion.

@laurenurie.therapy | Lauren Urie, R.S.W.A background image of a field of flowers with a white box in the middle and the following text:

'Fixing'

* Views people as problems to solve.
* Directive and controlling.
* Correcting perceived flaws.
* Imposing solutions.
* Goal: Change the person.

Supporting

* Views people as individuals with agency.
* Understanding and empathetic.
* Identifying strengths and encouraging continued growth.
* Providing guidance, resources and encouraging personal decision-making.
* Goal: Empower the person.

This is my weekend reading. I'm 50% through the book and so far I'm enjoying it and can highly recommend it. "But 'doing research' also means having the scientific literacy to understand the research studies you‘re reading." // Dr. Eric Sprankle, DIY www.goodreads.com/book/show/19...
