Thinking I haven't binged on The Who in ages. So here we go. There's something about spending time with albums you've listened to thousands of times, you know every word, every now, every beat, every voice fluctuation, so it's just a part of you.

I was thinking about ordering some small strong magnets. Then I was about to throw away some old mobile phone mounts I haven't used in years and realized they have magnets in them. Was able to easily open them up and got a nice set of eight 3/8" magnets. very strong.

Did another sketch in yesterday's style this morning. A bit more planned out, but still some glitches. I like where these are going. Learning a lot. Hand control is really improving. And doing them is quite meditative, and addicting - which tells me I'm on the right path.

yesterday I was feeling pretty dejected about drawing and skipped a day. Today I was randomly doodling during a meeting and came up with a thing I liked. Tonight I created this. Still just a sketch, but I really liked its potential.

In a fit of inspiration, I scanned this 17 year old conference badge, shrunk it to about 2x3 inches, and printed a sheet of them on sticker paper. Now I have a bunch of new stickers to put on... I don't know what, but I made my own day just now. :)

#inktober2026 day 3. No prompts. A structure for exploring crosshatch values. It's occurred to me, not for the first time, that it'd be interesting to generate some designs algorithmically and then render them by hand. Did not do that here, but throwing that idea on the list.

President at Anthropic

Anthropic is calling for a global effort to pace AI’s progress and give experts additional time to better manage the risks of increasingly capable models. To make this effort as effective as it can be in helping humanity build AI safely, we think three things should happen.

First, every AI company should commit to giving third-party evaluators employee-level access to verify safety, report problems, and guarantee compliance with the slowdown. We’re committing to doing this.

Second, AI companies operating in democracies should work together, with government support where necessary, to set common safety standards and limits on runaway AI progress.

Third, the U.S. and other democratic governments should try to coordinate with authoritarian governments pursuing advanced AI, recognizing that verification here is critical.

None of this is easy, but we believe we need to try, and if we manage to secure the benefit of time, we need to use it well. I hope you’ll read more here: https://lnkd.in/gxkPj9FC
