Still considered "spam" on Twitter. In the meantime I've been working on my first YouTube video, a breakdown of the Denjuu from Telefang. Fun but challenging, mostly focusing on getting a video out first and using it to figure things out.

Found out the Kaijuu Monogatari games have been translated which is neat but apparently like...translated by basically Rush Limbaugh and full of pointed remarks at Obamacare?

As a kid I knew Sasuke from the Mystical Ninja 64 manual but never got far enough to unlock him...but like he's easily the best character in the series. Also like the default character in most games getting around due to his speed

I was interested in developing a Pokemon fan game using the RPG Maker XP engine...have a pretty ambitious idea in sort of my idea for a reboot with some of the mechanics sort of simplified with hindsight.

I kind of hate seeing leaked Pokemon because I feel it sort of leads to obsessing over what could've been instead of what did happen, and at a point it seems a bit unhealthy.

Fisher Sky @birdiebutterson.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

These games are known as Pokemon clones but I think that kind of hides the fact they're absolutely batshit insane in terms of ridiculous plots held up by a Something Awful style localization. The game's grindy as hell but there's a charm that keeps me going

The final entry on the Super Famicom, I call it "Ganbare Goemon 4" but it isn't numbered. A smaller scale game compared to 3 with some interesting gimmicks like playing each world as a set character before you can switch between them, and mini games insteadof bosses and Impact Fights.

100

Fisher Sky @birdiebutterson.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

Goemon 3 is the most ambitious title of the series and what 64 took after quite a bit. It's here you finally have all four characters come together and switch them out on the fly, and takes more inspiration from Zelda and Metroid in overworld exploration and dungeon design.

The second Goemon for the SNES is the most basic platformer I've seen from the series, but it's solid. The introduction of the famous Impact fights which are pretty frustrating throughout most of the games I've played

Got shadow banned on Twitter for unknown reasons so I'll be posting on here with some of the retro games I've been playing...starting with the Goemon series revisiting the childhood classic, one of the few that hit North America and recently received a decomp

I've been writing up my idea for what if Sword and Shield had a proper Pokémon anime starring Ash. My idea was bring back Misty as a Let's Go rep and to balance out the new Champion Ash, with Gordie and Allister. Since they're version exclusives you can have the other 8 Gym Leaders proper.

@dogasusbackpack.bsky.social Random but On your site about AG Episode 24... "Originally, Musashi, Kojirou, Nyasu, and Sonansu all had some weird pitch thing done to their voices to make them deeper and sound as if they were talking in slow motion. I don't know why they did this " I solved it.

Pokémon stuff I've been working on is an Irish Region. My idea for Starters was all being dogs, I like the idea of them sharing a species. I definitely know the Grass one would be based on those sumo dogs, Grass/Fighting. With Guard Dog and sort of a counter to Incineroar in a way.

Watching some old Pokémon episodes today and I forgot the first ever Pokémon Contest episode in Hoenn featured Jynx in like her last appearance before they censored her, took me by surprise. Especially as I recall even in Jaoan they've gone back and edited her in classic episodes.

@nobogasawara.bsky.social So you were on the staff of the original localization of Red and Blue. Do you think there's merit to my idea given Game Freak's love of Toku Magmar and Electabuzz were references perhaps more so originally to Birdon and Eleking from Ultraman?

Anyway introduction post! I'm big into Pokémon, especially learning about Pokémon inspirations and history. Love Kamen Rider. And my avatar draws from the current Bride Studio Yu-Gi-Oh Rush Duel series. Also a lot of topics in general. I like to think I'm pretty open minded.

I still enjoyed my time on Twitrer but it does feel the tides are shifting for real this time, I think the fact the site is arguably on the way to being an arm of the Presidency really bugs people even some of the holdouts.

Every once in awhile I remember how Japanese drug laws basically erase you if you're caught with them. There's of course Sega erasing the Judgement character, and the Pichu Bros short is basically ignored in Japan due to the narrator caught.

Someone give me an idea for my next Master Duel Deck. I like more interesting ones, and generally I sort of like to stay within a theme if possible. Last two were Simorgh and Altergeist which are both pretty fun.

I like how it seems Yakuza 8 doesn't seem to make the jobs that important to stats...feels easier to switch between them without feeling like you're losing a ton of stats.

Fisher Sky @birdiebutterson.bsky.social · 07/02/2024

There was about...five minutes in Yakuza 8 where I thought the corrupt cop was gonna be a party member. Needless to say...uh...he wasn't...for sure.

The Yu-Gi-Oh Go Rush game for the Switch is my most played game so far this year. 50 hours in almost. It's totally free which rules. Have to have a tab open to Yugipedia to translate the cards but otherwise it's easy enough if you don't speak Japanese

Fisher Sky @birdiebutterson.bsky.social · 06/02/2024

I guess my biggest claim to fame is the biggest Yu-Gi-Oh Rush fan in US. There's like seven in all so that's not a big accomplishment but yeah...

I'm glad I finally got in. Twitter was becoming absolutely insufferable with all the bots. Not that I think Bluesky will be totally free of them but it can't be as horrible as Elon's X got.
