@doss.discourse broke down a pattern Americans keep living through. In the late 1990s, President #BillClinton handed over a booming economy with GDP growth around 4 percent, 22 million jobs created, and unemployment at a 33 year low. After #GeorgeWBush took office, the country ended up in a recession. Then #BarackObama inherited an economy losing about 700,000 jobs a month during the Great Recession. Over eight years, the U.S. added roughly 16 million jobs and cut unemployment from about 8 percent to 4.7 percent. Voters then handed the economy back to Republicans again.#DonaldTrump took office during the longest economic expansion in U.S. history, 128 straight months, and left office with another recession. In fact, 10 of the last 11 U.S. recessions began under Republican presidents. The post also points out that many of the policies people rely on today, like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the 40 hour work week, the minimum wage, the VA, the Civil Rights Act, and the Voting Rights Act, were created by Democrats and opposed by Republicans at the time. The question being asked is simple. How long does America keep voting for policies that break things, then expecting Democrats to clean up the mess?#Economy #Jobs #Recessions #Democrats #Republicans #EconomicHistory #LaborRights #SocialSecurity #Healthcare—What do the data say about your world view? repost @doss.discourseHelp this information get to more voters. 🇺🇸 A well-informed electorate is a prerequisite to Democracy.—Thomas Jefferson
