The reactionaries of the past would at least have managed to merge the politics and the horror genre into one complaint.

Yale's earliest efforts at diversity was geographic diversity, because the smart local students were "disproportionately" Jewish.

Batman v Superman chose to use the lone "v," presumably to make us imagine it is a movie about a superhero lawsuit. Coyote vs Acme presumably uses "vs" because they don't want to remind anybody of Batman v Superman #filmsky

I still think he fessed up to lying here out of a remnant of being a rube at Yale. He wants the smarty pants to know he isn't a rube, he was just playing to the rubes.

The drugs one I know well, the first rings a bell, but not with a full context. "Brain on drugs" was constantly parodied and mocked, so it had a large cultural footprint.

OpenAI’s chatbot fed the shooter’s violent fantasies and planning up to the massacre.

so we just nearly started a war with china (a nuclear state) because of genAI use
The intelligence report, circulated across the US military this spring in the midst of the war with Iran, immediately set off alarm bells: A Chinese ship in the Middle East was transporting components of a nuclear weapons program.
The US military swung into action with plans to intercept the vessel, according to four sources familiar with the episode.
According to two of the sources, armed members of the US military were preparing to board the ship. Military planes were in the air, one of those sources and another source familiar with the incident said.
It was only just before the planned operation that officials dug deeper into the report put together by a special operations command analyst and found it had been generated with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) — and that a chatbot the analyst had used inaccurately identified the material the ship was carrying. CNN was not able to learn what the misidentified cargo was.
The report, according to one of the sources, was "entirely false." But it also "almost started a war," the source said. Any US operation against a Chinese vessel could have risked spiraling into an armed conflict between the two nations.

Trivia: Gunsel was a term Hammett snuck by editors because it had the word "gun" in it. But it was a Yiddish(?) word for gosling which, in slang, was used for a kept young gay lover. It basically meant "kept twink."

There is a general trend to maximalize everything. I can't tell you how many YouTube videos claim some person "destroyed" <Redacted>, yet <Redacted> is still president. Those cases are, of course, for clicks, but it seems to have infected a lot of people.

Mark Cuban: Hey @grok, which is more likely to create a human extinction event or series of events in the next 25 years, Al or Climate Change ?
Assign a probability to each
If the answer to either is yes, do your best to put a timeline for when you think it happens
If the answer is no. Explain why

Too much sci-fi makes people think probabilities are what AI is good at. Data, C-3PO, even non-AI-just-smart Mr Spock. Calculating probabilities is hard because tiny deviations in assumption can lead to vast swings in results. Questions have to be very specific to even have a chance
