Pretty sure the UK public bodies, FLS, NatureScot etc and all the charities like NTS, JMT etc use copper for deer management, and they probably shoot the majority of deer. That said, I can't understand why rifle ammo wasn't included.

When do the public stonings start?

Wasn't even the usual 'momentary lapse of concentration'. It was a deliberate and reckless act. Presumably Rice also would know there was a passing place just around the corner. What gets into their heads?

Is it that ancient neolithic route through the rice paddys of the lower Yangze basin?

True, but it is the sound of autumn. Do you think they'll still be at it by 24th? I've a friend coming up from Hertfordshire and I thought about the Clais Fhearnaig circuit for the Highland wildlife experience. I owe him for nightingale and hobby.

With a flattened leaf stem to facilitate the 'trembling' too. Absolutely gorgeous in your photos.

Oh wow! Sounds (on limited information) like a great trip. Nice photie too. "There's a 'b' in numbat! Not a lot of people know that." (DJT)😉

Thank you so much. Exactly what I thought. But surely it's a 'doctored' photo? Did no-one tell her...tee-hee 🤭

Obvs too early to speculate but this is what happened: "We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our fort, and working with the British worked out great. It may have been Scotland Yard"..."We had them under view for a long time, and we got them" Said the orange-utan 🙄

Said yesterday was it that bears eat anything and now apparently you're 'devouring taxes'. Will you never be replete? 😋

Used to watch them from the office window repeatedly flying out of the wood, burying an acorn in the grassland. It's no wonder studies indicate an oak/Jay symbiotic relationship.

I'm stopping guessing now before this goes any further, and let someone else (less smutty than me) have a go. 😁

Great stop-off for fish and chips. Although might be busy if the whole crew are there at once 😉 You do need to watch the gulls though.

It's not boletus edulis. Probably pine, birch, larch bolete, all edible and apparently good. Unless someone identifies it with certainty that you just admire it. Otherwise slice, dry and store in airtight bag or container. Rehydrate as needed for wild mushroom risotto 😋 and a glass of nebbiolo.

Had to read Nigel Smith's licence notice twice! Licenced to be 'drunk' on the premises! There are places where folk are not licensed to be drunk? 😱

Mrs Bimbling and I got out earlier this week to bag hills she missed previously because we abandoned after she developed a sore knee on the hill. So, Aonach Beag and Beinn Eibhinn via Sgòr Iutharn. Great day out and the 'coping with vertigo course' she attended has been a great help too.

This is so beautifully expressed. I don't care where you 'are from'. Your words are so evocative of the situations RNLI volunteer crews find themselves in, as to be almost poetic. Hideous attacks on the RNLI and it's volunteers are a disgrace to the nation.

I'm all for re-wilding former grouse moors/sheep walk but I'd choose a better illustration of it than a blackcock in a Sitka spruce tree.

Well, thanks for pointing this out. I've only lived here 45 years and I had to check on Google streetview where I thought that building might be. Must have driven, and walked past it a hundred times...and never noticed it. My bad! Be nice if it was occupied and used again.

Love the colours in the mountain grasses at this time of year, and the orange of the summer's bog asphodel. The breeze really sets it off. Lovely.

Have you been on Walkhighlands and seen how many there are? 😳Could be one of several: east end of Southern Upland Way, St. Cuthbert's Way, John Muir Way to name just some. 🥴 I'll go for the end of the Southern Upland Way. 🤞🏻
