Another bus frequency reduction for people in Woolwich, Charlton & Lewisham but also Blackheath this time around. The 54 is reduced to every 12 mins from tomorrow during Mon-Fri daytimes, down from every 8-12 mins. Might have been missed with all the local election stuff...

With forthcoming local elections on 7 May, it is important residents of #Plumstead & #Glyndon in Greenwich have an opportunity to hear the views of those standing on local issues that matter to you. Ebru & I will be chairing hustings on 28 April at 7pm at Church of Christ the King, Lakedale Rd(1/3)

Mixed bag from @TfL notifying passengers in Woolwich of the discontinuation of route 472. Towards Charlton, no details of the SL11 route & stops (no lantern on the bus shelter either) & looks hasty, unlike the opposite side of the road. Less than a week to go. #Woolwich
Woolwich Market bus stop. Details only of discontinuation of route 472. No details of Superloop SL11 route or stops. Looks like a "printers draft" used as well of the notice, note the formatting details of the poster.Bus stop at Woolwich Market providing details of the discontinuation of route 472 & the stops served and route for its replacement Superloop SL11. Unlike the details provided across the road at Woolwich Market.Bus stop and shelter at Woolwich Station with a newly placed Superloop lantern on top of the shelter. None yet on the Woolwich Market stop.

Comes as no surprise after I noticed in 2023, a report stating Greenwich Council had placed highways into "managed decline". Fact is, roads are in dire condition across the borough. It doesn't take long cycling or driving to see that. Power to the DfT for highlighting what locals can see daily.

This has been on Woolwich New Road with various other items of litter over the last week. Ironic.. Actions speak louder than soundbites. @royalgreenwich.bsky.social #Woolwich #Greenwich #Plumstead

Sent TfL an email to clarify the situation after you messaged me. Just got a reply from them. Confirmed that the frequency has decreased during the day Monday to Saturday. I would not be surprised if this route is split into two in future because of its meandering route.
Email from TfL confirming route 386's frequency changed on 29 November so that it now runs only every 20 mins during Monday to Saturday daytime, rather than every 15 mins...

This is what I received from TfL. Unless they inadvertently missed out the word early! Possible I suppose... Also noticed that Go Ahead are planning a new garage on Purland Road, Thamesmead; accommodating 139 buses with electric charging infrastructure.

Great to see something I have flagged to TfL for some, considerable time, finally come to fruition. Local people doing more than some local Cllrs who knew this route needed such buses. Persistence is (sometimes) key. Electric ones soon... #ShootersHill #Woolwich #AbbeyWood

I have been asking - as have others - since 2018 & beyond. Residents could foresee the benefits. Shame Greenwich Council, their planning dept & Cllrs didn't. The 3rd attachment is a written reply from Berkeley Homes in Oct 20 re: Belmarsh dev. Interesting to note what they said at the time...

Every single drain blocked from Woolwich New Road (should be renamed "Woolwich New River") to the Sea Barbers in Woolwich. That drain cannot cope now & overflowing onto the pavement. When are Royal Greenwich going to sort out the drains in Woolwich & Plumstead? The beer can enjoying the ride though.
