Post a food from your childhood that you feel nostalgic for even though it was absolutely terrible. It's not because I'm a vegetarian now, but because that "cheese" isn't really cheese & (to my recollection) had very little flavor other than salt.
A package of Oscar Mayer hot dogs that have little bits of "cheese" stuffed inside.

Socially, I think of transwomen as transwomen. If we are talking specifically about sex, I think of them as male because I have not seen compelling evidence that humans can change sex, regardless of gender identity.

I love bookstores & wish they could all not just survive, but thrive. But not this one. I hope these two fail hard & publicly & face (deserved) ridicule from other booksellers. (This is some Zibby-ass shit.)
It's been les than six weeks since The Best Bookstore in Union Square opened its doors at 226 Powell St., and owners Sarah Lacy and Paul Carr are already imagining ways to disrupt their industry.

"It's maddening to me how little innovation there is in bookselling," Carr said after closing up the shop one evening last month. "I'm fascinated by looking at a bookstore as a startup."

Between this & the snippets from the article on how rich people raise their kids, I feel it necessary to re-state that "parent" is a verb, not just a noun. If you can't be bothered to parent, you should maybe reconsider being a parent.
Image of a social media post (poster & platform not identified) that reads:
"I've never understood the urge to bring infants/children/the entire extended family to the grocery. We never did that, it's obnoxious & slows everything down for everyone.

"One person, in and out. That's all you need. If you cannot find one person in your life to be with your children for an hour..."

This book honestly sounds like a fun paranormal romance featuring two of my favorite X-Men, but it is NOT a "Romantasy." I guess I can now look forward to any Romance novel with supernatural or paranormal or magical or fantastical elements being called "Romantasy" to cash in.
Post from Saritza Hernández "We've been sitting on this for a while and so excited to see the cover reveal for client @loulawrites.bsky.social in collaboration with @aabria.bsky.social's ROGUE X GAMBIT (AN X-MEN LOVE STORY) in Cosmopolitan today! with a link to an article in Cosmopolitan magazine." The static image from the Cosmo website shows the blurred book cover on the left and photos of the two authors, both young Black women, on the right. The headline for the article reads "'Rogue x Gambit' Brings Louangie Bou-Montes and Aabria Iyengar Together for a New Romantasy" and the teaser text reads "This new book in the Marvel universe is mashing up so many of our favorite things together."

Note to whoever wrote the teaser: You only needed "up" or "together," not both. Both is redundant.

This has probably done more damage to their reputation than amateur artists ever could.
A passage from the Wikipedia entry on the Swarovski company which reads: Members of the Swarovski family were early, active and enthusiastic champions of Nazism, and at least six of its members maintained membership in the illegal party prior to Austria's annexation to Nazi Germany on 12 March 1938.[24] Three weeks earlier, 500 marchers in the Tyrolean town of Wattens held a torchlight procession that ended with chants of "Sieg Heil" and "Heil Hitler”. The majority of the participants, police determined, were Swarovski plant employees, among them Swarovski family heirs Alfred, Wilhelm and Friedrich.[25]

In its report to the state police on 14 February 1947, the Innsbruck district administrator called company head Alfred Swarovski "an enthusiastic member of the NSDAP."[26] Alfred Swarovski praised Hitler at business gatherings and took actions as a regional business leader to ensure that "Tyrolean industry could be integrated as smoothly as possible into the enormous gears of the economy of Greater Germany and into the National Socialist economic order." He sent "grateful loyalty greetings" to Adolf Hitler on his 49th birthday and arranged a donation of 100,000 shillings for Hitler to establish a holiday home in Tyrol.[27]

The company exploited its political connections and stewardship of the regional business association to emerge stronger from the Nazi era. During the war it diversified its production and expanded its business lines, adding abrasives, optical devices, telescopes, binoculars and other product lines and growing from 500 to almost 1,200 employees between the Anschluss and March 1944.

"From my party affiliation, I only took advantage of the fact that it was possible for me as a party member to initiate the negotiations necessary for maintaining the company and to bring it to a successful conclusion with the responsible economic agencies of the Reich." Alfred Swarovski told the Innsbruck People's Court after the war.

With alt text, because this may be my favorite Far Side. Not necessarily the best or funniest & certainly not the most bizarre, but the one that makes me laugh every time & is the reason I call it "Cat Fud."
A single panel cartoon which depicts an orange tabby cat peering into a dryer in a laundry room. On the door of the laundry room & the floor in front of the dryer, someone has written "Cat Fud" with arrows pointing to the dryer's interior. The washing machine is to the left of the dryer and a dog has wedged itself between the washing machine and the wall. A thought bubble above the dog's head says "Oh please, oh please..."

I'm going to share some images that I think might be good inspiration for the kind of cover you're looking for. Two different styles, but both convey a message of "fun, but also sexy & a little bit dangerous."
A very deep midnight blue book cover with a border of ivy and lily of the valley. In the top right corner is a small thatched cottage. In the top left corner is a marble bust of a woman. In the bottom left corner is a blue teacup decorated with darker blue flowers and with a rim, handle, and foot of ivory yellow. Along the right border, entwined in the ivy, is an old-fashioned broom. At the bottom of the cover is an illustration of a woman with long brown hair who is wearing a blue tunic/dress and black boots and wielding a broom like a sword. She is facing off against a man with short dark hair who is wearing a white shirt unbuttoned at the collar, black pants, and black boots. He is wielding an actual sword, which is crossed with the woman's broom. The cover is for The League of Gentlewoman Witches by India Holton. The cover of Sword Crossed by Freya Marske. Two men are embracing and gazing longingly into each others' eyes while also holding swords. The gentleman on the left has medium-dark skin and dark hair and is wearing a blue waistcoat over a white shirt. The gentleman on the right has fair sink and blond hair and is wearing a red waistcoat over a white shirt. Behind them is a round window and also some billowing fabric in gold and plum.

December 25: A veritable feast of chocolate, most of which will likely be consumed during an afternoon spent in cozy pajamas & watching cheesy holiday movies. (Details in alt text.)
A pink glass plate with etched edges and divided into four compartments. In each compartment, clockwise from top: a gold foil packet of La Parisienne Drinking Chocolate, three square-shaped Dubai-style bonbons, three pink Himalayan salt caramels in pink plastic wrappers, three Midnight sandies batons. A bookelt is open to a two page spread and rests underneath the lower rim of the dish. On the left-hand page is a background of green foliage. An ornate gold picture frame surrounds a deep blue box scattered with stars. At the lower right corner of the frame rests a green budgie with blue wing tips and tail feathers. Text in the box reads "The Arrival. You have arrived. The garden has blossomed and the magic you've cultivated now surrounds you. Today is for savoring—every flavor, every laugh, every quiet breath. The journey through wild cacao and wonder has taken root in your heart. Let today be a celebration of Peace, Love, and Chocolate. Set Your Intentions. Be present. Be here. Be now. Share your light." The right-hand page is white and has two pink birds that are supposed to be flamingos, but have the beaks of ibises facing each other at the bottom. At the top of the page "Day 25" is framed by two red fronds curling upward with a pink flower connecting them at the bottom, directly below the "25". Text on the page reads: "La Parisienne Drinking Chcolate 62% cacao dark chocolate + Madagascar vanilla bean; Dubai Style Bonbon Sicilian pistachio + white chocolate + tahini + kataifi +45% cacao deep milk chocolate; Pink Salt Caramel Bonbon pink Himalayan salt +burnt sugar caramel + 62% cacao dark chocolate; Midnight Sandie handcrafted chocolate shortbread cookie + 62% cacao dark chocolate + star anise cookie crumbs"

December 24: Naga Heart This is the flavor that first intrigued me about Vosges. I'm not a fan of coconut chocolates, but they don't use that sweetened coconut that is such a nasty surprise in a box of See's. The curry is subtle, but clearly there. Solids, not ganache-filled truffles, alas.
A booklet page in deep blue with a pattern of stars in the night sky. There is an illustration of a chandelier in the top right corner. Four heart-shaped chocolates sprinkled with coconut are scattered around the edges of the page, three on each side. Text on the page reads "Day 24 The Threshold Naga Heart curry + coconut shreds + 45% cacao deep milk chocolate The eve of wonder has arrived. The season hums with quiet magic—each moment inviting you to slow down. Through the hustle, you've come this far. Let gratitude settle around you like soft snowfall. December 23: Pecan Butter Toffee. It's just toffee, but it's really good toffee. It's softer than a lot of toffee & doesn't get stuck in one's teeth. It's also got a good salt level, so it doesn't leave an impression of overwhelming sweetness.
A deep blue booklet page scattered with night sky stars. At the bottom of the page is an illustration of a spotted leopard wearing a pink fascinator and a matching pink bow tie sitting in a fancy purple chair to the left of a table holding a gramophone. Seated in a matching chair on the right side of the table is a monkey in a fancy hat and a red robe. They are surrounded by palmetto fronds. December 22: Mango Embers Eh. It's dried mango coated in dark chocolate & dusted with chili powder. There's not anything terribly unique or surprising about this one, except that Vosges keeps spelling "chili" with a double-l for some reason.
A booklet page with a background of an ombré blue night sky sprinkled with stars. There are palmetto leaves across the bottom edge. Two bits of dark chocolate—the one on the left shaped vaguely like a caterpillar and the one on the right is a misshapen rectangle—are side-by-side across the bottom of the page and behind them you can get a sneak peek st the description of the next chocolate to be revealed. Text on the page reads "Day 22 Mango Embers dried mango + 62% cacao dark chocolate + chilli dust"

December 18: Cranberry Nougat In my opinion, it could use more cranberry flavor. Maybe white, or even milk, chocolate would let the cranberry flavor shine through stronger.
A creamy white booklet page with tropical foliage adorned with red and gold ornaments descending from the top left corner. Across the bottom of the page are three rectangular chocolates with their top ends sprinkled with crushed nuts and dried berries. Text on the page reads "Day 18 Cranberry Nougat Kallas raw honey + roasted whole almond + cranberry + roasted pistachio + 62% cacao dark chocolate + crushed pistachio + freeze dried raspberry"
