Ok here it is in action The lads are not as close to the motor and it looks in the picture and they know the first rule is to stay away from it Between yesterdays and today I did 15 gallons , 2 6ish gallon pony kegs and a 3 gallon batch of bottles to put away

Red stripes and prominent lenticles and the age … I’m leaning toward honeycrisp actually It’s a pleasant quite crunchy juicy apple? Like the platonic ideal of an apple? Honeycrisp Could it be a little more odd ball? Sure , but Honeycrisp would be a big contender

Here’s the commodity price graph We are coming off the lowest prices for the last five years Only bc every part of the government and processors pulled every lever to it from completely tanking and it’s even up that much especially considering increased input costs like water and fertilizer

First black peaches have ripened , a little early, surprised me , they stay relatively hard so I’m still learning when to judge ripeness This is Indian Free , it can supposedly be traced back to the vast peach 🍑 orchards that were planted by native Americans once peaches were introduced here

My aunt found this at a thrift store and it’s great for a lot of Regular pitters I’ve used were too big meant for just sweet cherries 🍒 This one worked well , we process a couple of gallons a year

I guess I grow peaches 🍑 now I talk a lot about my plums and apples and sour cherries and berries But peaches have been my biggest failure We, the PacNW, get peach leaf curl real bad I’ve had to replace multiple trees But finally! I have a very generous harvest!

First home grown mirabelle plum. Geneva variety It’s wonderful I’ve rarely had them before I n small quantities from test orchards so it’ll be a real treat when I have a lot from my own trees , I’m very excited And the damson and greengage are absolutely loaded this year too , good plum year
