Extremely concerning news that Jodrell Bank in Cheshire is facing closure, after UKRI announced the end of their funding from 2028. Though the Lovell Telescope is Grade I listed, the best strategy for preserving this internationally significant site is surely to keep the observatory in active use.

Flickr iPad app puts up a modal dialog when downloading a photo to the timeline. This will make downloading several photos very tedious. A non-blocking notification is better #Flickr #iPad

What does anyone think about the Flickr iPad app redesign? You can’t view a photo in the Camera Roll then swipe left or right. A modal user interface paradigm from the 1990s has resurfaced! Too much border round photos, won’t display them full screen. Too many other issues to mention! #Flickr #iPad
I want to enter the camera roll and swipe left or right to view photos. It’s not possible. You’re forced to click the cross top right to close a photo and re-enter the camera roll to view the next photo. This is a 1990s modal UI paradigm. The modern way with touch screens is to swipe left or right from here. The photo display does not make the best use of the iPad screen available - there should be a way to maximise the photo view to full screen.

Yes, the combination of coloured and metal rings on the legs defines the ringing scheme. I look up the scheme and report to the relevant ringing group. They usually return data on the bird. You can report via BTO or for waders this is a good place to start www.waderstudygroup.org/projects/col...

Handy UGREEN Bluetooth transmitter to connect iPod Shuffle music player to Bluetooth headphones or car with Bluetooth audio and no hardwired audio-in jacks. Renault integration requires to navigate many obscure UIs every time to get it to play audio from the device though even when already paired 🤔

Front incisor dental crown loose and rattling. “We don’t usually deal with these until they fall off” said the receptionist at the dentist. It seems to be retained by a post, I can’t face trying to pull it off myself - hoping the dentist will have solutions/ ideas 😂

Apple caves to UK government Snooper’s Charter by reducing data security for customers in the UK. Seems kind of pointless as anyone can apply pre-internet encryption before uploading data archives to the cloud. The bad guys surely do this already, so they’ll have to ban encryption tools next 🤔

Front and back photos. So the back is a 3D print piece to protect the circuit board? Trying to work out where the mic hole is, I think possibly by the bat's right ear (left side as you look at it). Now I just need to find some active bats to try it out before our churchyard survey!
