July 13, 1985 was Live Aid — but also on that day Depeche Mode headlined a festival in France (despite what this ad indicates). This is just one of the many things I am learning from reading “Depeche Mode Live” by Dennis Burmeister and Sascha Lange.

Look what I found at the Main Library in Vienna? This 420-page German book is by the same authors who wrote “Monument” in 2013 and “Behind the Wall: Depeche Mode Fankultur in der DDR” in 2018. It is packed with photos of the band, tour passes, posters, ads and more. My Google Translate is ready!
