I’m a recovering alcoholic. If I spent everyday yelling at everyone I saw order a beer because I saw it as a personal attack on me…well I wouldn’t have all that many people wanting to be around me. But I facilitate meetings for others in recovery every week. That is how I create good in the world.

All that to say if you look at the last 10 years of public comments from the MST3K guys you see how they’ve grown and learned. Bill has come out publicly that he has a trans child and how that changed his feelings on past material, going so far as to delete riffs from older eps.

Trying to explain how little most of us were exposed to any LGBT representation let alone positive representation in media pre-internet to the kids that have been incubated online is frustrating. It was a lot easier to go for cheap laughs when you’ve never met someone from that marginalized group.

I’m a massive PJ fan. The first time I heard Evenflow on the radio it was over for me. I was also like 13 and angry. They’re the band that with each release seemed to mature at the same pace I did. I’ve seen them dozens of times. I almost never go back to Ten. So, no wasps nests here.

As someone in recovery, who runs meetings weekly I can’t recommend this enough. Especially if you are a creative. Rediscovering a love of writing in sobriety took time, as all healing does. And as a guy that LOVED Deadspin, it’s heartening to know some of us grew out of that nihilistic mindset. ❤️

I’m all for quantity of prospects as a return this particular season. With 2027 more likely than not being locked out. Why not focus on overstocking the minors system? All these guys “under control” will be another year older. Give the next GM/POBO a full toybox for the 2028 season. #LFGM #MetsSky

it’s not moral, but I’ve made peace with the fact that the people that own and run the pro sports teams that I support probably suck in ways that I can’t fathom. I personally despise the “everything is gambling as an app!” Being omnipresent. I can’t be surprised when they intersect with sports.
