Building by building, we're rebuilding the Tenderloin. A corner store that was operating as gambling den will now be turning into a community center for families, children, and more. Congrats to the TLCBD on taking over 200 Leavenworth. And sparking the revitalization of a neighborhood.

Exclusive: Tenderloin reclaims one of its most notorious corners after 10-year fight
If buildings could have rap sheets, this San Francisco property had a long one. Now it’s set to become a community center at an important intersection in the Tenderloin.

Proud of my friend @dannysauter.bsky.social leading the way to create San Francisco's first inventory of city-owned property for potential housing sites. Building on municipal property is faster and cheaper.

Same block. Different city after dark. By day, parts of the Tenderloin look like any other SF street. At night, the drug market comes back, and the 3,500 kids who live here still can't walk home safely.

Did you know if you tried to open a Trader Joe's, Grocery Outlet, or soon even a Mollie Stone's in San Francisco - you can't? That's because SF has outdated rules that limit new chain stores - even grocery stores and pharmacies - from opening. So today I announced legislation to fix it.

Have water leak, damaged ceiling, or no heat in your building? The city can help. A common issue we hear about from constituents are substandard conditions in large buildings often owned by corporate landlords. If you find yourself in one of these situations and it isn't being fixed - report it.

Today we announced $85MM to help households to electrify their homes and transition to the green economy. With a significant percent of carbon emissions still coming from gas-powered homes built before 1948, we need investments in tech to help us transition to electric heat pumps and water heaters.

Shutting down drug markets requires a multifaceted approach of enforcement and prevention. Organizations like Urban Alchemy are an essential part of that prevention. And the data proves it: 20% reduction in overall crime, including reductions in drug crime and behavioral health-related crime.

As corporate grocery stores keep closing in SF, residents in the Fillmore came together yesterday to advocate for a different model: grocery co-ops. Co-ops allow the community to chart its own destiny to meet the needs of community. In how they hire, how they price, and how they source food.
