It was the day I first showed symptoms of Alt. sickness. I had to spend the night here in a tent before crossing the pass. I couldn't sleep all night, woke up around 3:30 AM & set off for the extremely #challenging pass under a starlit sky. Down in Samdo, I even dropped my headlight into the valley.

Trekking in the #Himalayas almost always ends with a 6-8 hr push along glacial drainage channels. You actually have to wake up at 3:00 AM or so to cross the high pass on time---otherwise, you’ll be caught in brutal gusts of wind. But that’s where you truly find out who you are. #nature #bikeshdeshar
