Melting Pot #1-4 (Kitchen Sink). The art was incredible, but could only really be appreciated in the issues printed with glossy pages. Other than a loveletter to Richard Corben and the like, I didn't particular like the "story" (whatever it was). #comicsky #kevineastman #erictalbot #simonbisley

Strangers in Paradise Vol. 6: High School! TPB (Abstract Studio). Such a great series. I'm worried as it seems like we're getting closer to returning to the moment Francine meets up with Katchoo when they're older and it feels dreadful. #comicsky #strangersinparadise #terrymoore

The Forged #10 (Image). I'm a few months late to picking this back up, but after a two year gap since #9, I had lost the momentum. Happy to report I am way back into this. The world and style of this book is just electric and the story continues to expand. #comicsky #theforged #imagecomics

Armageddon Patrol: Cherries #1 (Alchemy Texts). As excellent as this cover is, I can't get over how poorly rendered most of the faces are inside. There's some charm to how bad they are, but it's limited. They include a letter from Dave Sim who, unsurprisingly, doesn't like the female lead. #comicsky

The Official Prince Valiant #1 (Pioneer). I enjoy this comic much more in this format, but man the printing here is awful. It's reprinting material from 1937, so I'm sure there were issues with the source, but it makes for a hard read. #comicsky #princevaliant

Cerebus Jam (Aardvark-Vanaheim). These are always fun. I particularly enjoyed "Squinteye the Sailor." The juxtaposition between Terry Austin's Popey- I mean Squinteye and Dave Sim's Cerebus makes for a really great stylistic pairing. #comicsky #cerebus #davesim #terryaustin

Roulette #1 (Caliber). It's both funny and sad that the editorial in this issue pokes fun at Caliber starting yet another anthology series, only for it to end here. I enjoyed a few of the stories! #comicsky #caliberpress #calibercomics

The Usagi Yojimbo Saga Vol. 5 (Dark Horse). Another 500+ pages of the most consistent series ever, evidenced by them mixing issues from 1989 in with those from 2004 and I had no idea. This pin-up by Mark Crilley was the icing on the cake. #usagiyojimbo #comicsky #stansakai #markcrilley

Concrete: Stars Over Sand #3 (Dark Horse). The stakes increase, as does the danger, the bad decisions, and the possibility of the pit in my stomach bursting. Something (else) is bound to go wrong. Never been more stressed reading Concrete! #comicsky #darkhorsecomics #concrete #paulchadwick

Poison Elves Vol. 9 TPB: Baptism by Fire (Sirius). This storyline feels more traditional fantasy rather than the lower scale stories from earlier on, but it's still fun. Had to include this panel from #57 where Luse "says the thing." #comicsky #siriusentertainment #poisonelves #ilusiphur

Cheval Noir #30-33 (Dark Horse). Admittedly, I'm not enjoying as many of the stories in the later issues of this anthology series. These are out of order in the picture because I had to put #32 on top for the absolutely sick Dave Gibbons cover. #comicsky #darkhorsecomics #davegibbons

Alex #1 and #2 (Fantagraphics). I'm greatly enjoying this crass, very funny comic about an alcoholic cartoonist anthropomorphic dog living in a world of no other anthropomorphics, but the humans don't seem to notice he's a dog. Gotta find the remaining 4 issues! #comicsky #fantagraphics

The Replacement God #1-5 (Amaze Ink). I liked the story in Negative Burn enough to be excited when I found these in a 50 cent bin the other day. The tone reminds me of Monkey Island, which is very much my shit. Need to find #6-8 ASAP. #comicsky #zandercannon

Strangehaven Vol. 2 TPB: Brotherhood (Abiogenesis). I'm not sure what is engaging to me about this series, but I need to see it through, even if the plot is paper thin and the realism illustrations are, frankly, ugly, stilted, and really crank up the melodrama and ham. #comicsky

A Distant Soil #4 (WaRP Graphics). Seriously, has colored pencil ever looked so good in comics? The colors and shading are impeccable. This back color is sweet, too, even though Jason Scott doesn't do much for me as a character. #comicsky #adistantsoil #colleendoran #warpgraphics

Camelot Eternal #5-8 (Caliber). Finished this on a recent international flight. I thoroughly enjoyed this series despite having very little knowledge of Camelot, King Arthur, and the Knights of the Roundtable. Can't really go wrong with B+W, hand-lettered J. Calafiore comics from this era. #comicsky

Strangehaven Vol. 1: Arcadia TPB (Abiogenesis). This book is quite odd, but weirdly engaging, with a slow burn mystery mixed with a myriad of side stories in a small town. The combination of illustration, paintings, and photos doesn't really work for me. Still have Vol. 2 and 3, though! #comicsky

Adam @bigtimecow.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Camelot Eternal #4 (Caliber). At first I thought this cover was just awkwardly angled and not depicting what it appeared to be. But, uh, nope, it's pretty spot on. More violence, adultery, and scheming in glorious B+W. #comicsky #caliberpress #calibercomics #jcalafiore #camelot #kingarthur

Camelot Eternal #3 (Caliber). The cover painting by Wayne Reid is fantastic.
