Pay them £250k pa. Make them pass a difficult test to even stand. Ban them from all other outside interests. Centrally provide them with one member of staff and a constituency office which they must attend once a week for surgery and must attend Parliament for at least one week out of three.

I’m not that excited by the prospect of Burnham as PM for a number of reasons. But one thing that gives me some hope is the idea he might “copy and paste” what he’s done in Manchester out to the rest of the cities, towns and maybe even villages.

We are moving from a heating demand nation to a cooling demand nation. I work in Building management, buildings like the Cheese grater have no heating at all in the upper floors. All cooling. Obviously they can use heat recovery from the lower floors on the very rare occasions it’s necessary.
