Monuments in the sky no less!!

You just did!! Sage advice too. Hark at you and the common senses 👍🙂🤣🤣

First time for two weeks!! I'm still signed off until the end of next week at least, but this little trip away has been the tonic I needed.

Quite a tough day for my leg yesterday, but worth every flinch. The "Cornwall At War" museum was brilliant and we ended the day by lining up The Phantom at the end of the former RAF Davidstow Moor 2000 yard-long main runway. Today it's all about the narrow gauge steam at Lappa Valley

Over at the 100 Squadron Association, we've got a fundraising campaign for a memorial plaque at the @ibccdigitalarchive.bsky.social International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln. If you can contribute anything, however small, we'd appreciate it, and a share too www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding...

No, but I did hear you rattle when we were setting up for 145 Alive!!

Boom!! Correct answer!! 🤣🤣

I'll check for access matey, and if I can, get prepared for a 160m net on 2m 🤣🤣

I picked up a nasty case of cellulitis Chris. Then it took the best part of a week for someone to spot I hadn't been given all the antibiotics I should have been taking. And now I've got a secondary infection in the leg. Bloody bored of it now!!

I'm getting very bored of laying in bed with my leg in the air!!

I'm going to run a length of coax from the shack to the bedroom today and relocate the FT-3185 to the bedside table 👍😁

Leg update. It's buggered 👍🙄🤣 As well as all the antibiotics I'm taking, I'm now on iodine dressings. Our bedroom smells like a horse stables 😳🙄🤣🤣

I'd quite happily forget it at the moment!!

I'm back at the GP with my leg later this morning. Other than that, I will mostly be taking rest and watching the telly box.

Greg 2W1BUF @bigbernie.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

I concur. This week on top band I have learned the names of medication I didn't even know existed.

So, just back from the GP. Seems that someone "forgot" to give me some medication that I need when I was at the hospital on Sunday, which is why my leg hasn't healed as quickly as it should. For the love of the lord bloody God almighty... *Shakes head and bangs fists in frustration*

Greg 2W1BUF @bigbernie.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Thanks Andy, I'll be popping over to see her flying next year

Greg 2W1BUF @bigbernie.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Oh yes indeed!! But do you remember how to interpret the letters too?

There has been a slight improvement, the swelling has reduced a little, still sore and red though, but we're on the reciprocal course against this time yesterday I think 👍🙂

"I'm going to say this once, and once only Gene Hunt. Stay out of Camberwick Green." I can't breathe here for laughing!! 🤣🤣

You can never have enough Mother Napier in your life 👍😁

If I recall correctly, the suggestion at the time was that that was an OTHR? Which seems to be a bit contradictory to me.

This needs a great big fat "unlike" button.

I am very interested to hear this!! You've had a better morning than me, I've been down at the Royal Gwent trying to dodge getting admitted with my gammy leg!! 🤣🤣

One (very, as it turned out) lucky guess, some family members who work in horse racing, a Welsh question, a music question, all went in my favour today. First time I've managed a clean sheet!! 🧠 Quiz of the Day - Sep 20 🟩 🟩 🟩 🟩 🟩 🟩 🟩 🟩 🟩 🟩 Score: 10/10 Think you can do better? quizoftheday.co.uk

I believe they're still turning up old cannon balls and musket shot from to time also. I really need to spend a couple of days there having a poke about!!

Thanks for that. As soon as I read his name it started raining bells, so I had a look on the Googles. A Parliamentarian who took command of Warwick Castle in the English Civil War. That's another interest of mine, so that's where I've heard his name before.

Good point well made my friend, good point well made... 🤣🤣🤣

Blinking bravo Mike, you speak for me on this and no mistake. My copy is here but I haven't read it yet. I shall do so with tea and cake, a fine British tradition, at some point this weekend. A fine British tradition that doesn't involve being a racist, knuckle-dragging, flag shagger 👍🙂
