At times like this, the mask really comes off the British media. There is no pretence - at all - about their impartiality or objectivity towards the Green Party. It is a blatant naked partisan cross-media assault against the Greens.

Corporate profits just hit a record 13.2% of GDP. Wages simultaneously fell to a record-low 41.1%. This is the political economy of modern capitalism: record profits, a shrinking share for workers, and corporations spending billions on political donations and lobbying to maintain the status quo.

It hasn’t taken the Chancellor long to sound the retreat on the hope the country needs. We are gripped by a cost of living crisis and need action now. Lower bills, wealth taxes and an end to the great water rip off. Thames Water into public ownership now. No more excuses

John Healey has said "public control" doesn't mean "public ownership". It means "exerting public influence", "fair bills", "better services", "investment", an "active state" and "better regulation". The old adage: "you don't control what you don't own" has never been more apposite

Burnham too influenced by ‘vested interests’ to offer change, Polanski says
Exclusive: Green party launches pushback against idea that next PM will have more left-leaning agenda than Starmer * UK politics live – latest updates Andy Burnham is “too in hock to vested interests” to offer real change, Zack Polanski has said as the Greens launched a pushback against the incoming prime minister, portraying him as cautious and weak on such areas as wealth taxes, Gaza and rent controls. Under Polanski’s leadership the Green party in England and Wales has more than tripled its membership, and is closely tracking Labour in opinion polls, with much of the new support coming from former Labour voters disenchanted with Keir Starmer’s approach.
