An astounding performance. She finished, and after a brief pause, turned and said, “You know, I recorded all the Chabrier piano works.”

For about 14 months since the fire I felt my meditation practice had gone to hell. Both benches burned so i was sitting on chairs. Finally started using a bench again which def turned things around. Lamas stress the importance of posture, definitely validated. Will buy bench for the office as well.

Cleaned and updated the shrine at the apartment. Added a stage in back so some figures are more visible, esp Padmasambhava. My root guru you are the lifebreath of this lineage. Any relationship with you is meaningful.

Went to temple to celebrate Buddha’s birthday during the holy month of Saga Dawa. It is said that during this period the virtuous (or non virtuous) results of one’s actions are magnified 100 million times.

An immense colorful brocade is on display outside the temple for the annual celebration of the Buddha’s birthday. The practice finishes with bathing an image of the baby Buddha and reciting vows

I was not able to ID this. Coastal SoCal region. Erupts either through asphalt or directly adjacent. 16 to 20 cm in height, cap the size of golf ball, looks like dusted with cocoa.

Woody but feather-light mushroom stem with cocoa brown rounded cap.

Woody mushroom stem with skin like shaved bark. Bulbous cap looks like it’s dusted with cocoa powder. Found next to asphalt paved path on a summer late afternoon.

Watched the first four episodesof Heated Rivalry, enjoyed it. Best part was commercials. Forst two seasons ads had unmistakable nb and trans persons. Later season ad had young teens, which suggests they are a demographic drawn to this show. May they take inspiration. Protect trans youth.

Ok. No idea what these are. Went home around the anniversary of the fire for a rainy day hike. I’ve read that fires spread rare nutrients, perhaps that’s why I saw these fungi for the first time.
