October 10th 2026 It's World Mental Health Day. Mental health just wasn't a 'thing' when I was growing up - in fact it was simply a taboo subject. Such a pity that one of the most important aspects of everybody's life wasn't addressed in schools. It could have helped/saved so many.

I’ve avoided remarking on the Russia Irkutsk death given the murky information. Under IHR verification, Russia has told WHO it is not plague but has not confirmed the pathogen. The released just now by WHO DG Tedros reinforces my view that this is an increasingly concerning situation.
