Along with a very quickly aging population. There are not enough younger people coming into the industry to fill the needs. Hard to scrape together or finance a boat and gear needed.

It has been tough for the lobster industry here in Maine. The water is warming so the lobsters seem to be moving away. The price for diesel fuel, the slow down in tourists from out of state and Canada. Most of the lobster gear is now imported, ropes, netting, bait bags and steel all with tariffs

It has been reported that $500 million is projected to be spent on the midterm and Governor election here in Maine. We have a population of 1.4 million with just over 1 million voters. Most polls are showing 3-5% undecided. Makes no sense.

Spent an hour one day cutting up some larger oak logs, then an hour a day for 2 days splitting some of it at the local wood bank. Great exercise, keeping me warm, and hopefully keeping others warm this winter.

amazing how much money is being spent to influence the 3%-5% undecided that are in each of the recent polls. I can not help feeling that some of this money could have been put to better use.
